"Lost Media" purge

any reasoning on your recent edit spree, which removed almost any mention of the term: "lost media"? ロドリゲス恭子 (talk) 23:59, 3 February 2026 (UTC)

I'm focusing on things like a work being considered "lost media" only because it's not easily available, when someone has added the obvious "and is thus lost media," or where an unsourced claim is made about something being "lost." Trivialist (talk) 00:03, 4 February 2026 (UTC)

I really think you need consensus to do purges like that instead of unilaterally changing every single mention of lost media on the website. This is not how Wikipedia works. If you're removing unsourced content that's fine, but you appear to be removing any mention of lost media just because you don't like the term, even when it's sourced? I've reverted everything that I've found was unreasonable or unnecessary especially when sourced to reliable sources; I've not readded unsourced content. Lost media is content that is presumed lost. There is no problem in linking to that article in any Wikipedia article about content presumed lost. You may disagree with the definition and want to change it, but please attain consensus first.
