[edit]From Proto-Celtic *temeslos, from Proto-Indo-European *témHeslo- (“darkness”) (compare Sanskrit तमिस्रा (támisrā, “dark night”), Old High German demar (“twilight”), Latin tenebrae (“darkness”), from *temH-).[1]
