i guess i should probably do this at some point. i joined this community a few days ago, and am really looking forward to being a part of it. i'm not sure that i'll have all that much to contribute to begin with, as i am just beginning my journey. i've always considered myself an atheist or an agnostic. my husband is a buddhist, and i've done a lot of reading and research on various relions and spiritual beliefs, only to find that none of them "fit" me. however, this is different...from the moment that i stepped into this realm (pagan & wiccan), i've felt at "home". i'm still very much a beginner, and i'm still trying to find my specific path, but i do feel that i am finally pointed towards the direction of the paths that are meant for me. and it feels good - really good.
anyway, my name is kym, but for all intents and purposes, please refer to me as "datura". i'm 32, married, have a 13 year old son and 8 indoor cats. we recently just moved back to northwest ohio from michigan to care for my elderly parents. currently, i am just beginning to study the very basics. i've picked up several books, visited a spiritual "variety" store not too far from here (where i've collected quite a few items to aid in my study), and i've also signed up online with magicka shool, tarot college, witch school, and the pagan college. i'm not certain as to the quality of any of these, but i figure they will at least give me a general base from which to start.
i guess that's it for now. i just wanted to say hello and to introduce myself. i'm sorry if you see this cross-posted to some different communities - i've joined a lot as of late, and i'm not feeling up to writing a seperate intro for each one.
i'm really looking forward to being in this community, learning from all of you, and hopefully making some new friends that take me seriously throughout this learning process. if you have any questions for me, ask away - i'm pretty much an open book.
i hope this finds everyone well.

It's my birthday and there is a full moon, anyone have suggestion on a combination of something I could do i'm really excited about it. I have always adored full moons. My family has had a lot of birthdays on special moon days, such as full moons, lunar eclipses, not a moon thing but comet sightings, meteor showers and such. I would like to know of anything special to do, or should it all just be from the heart, should I do whatever feels right.

Well it's been awhile. I've been so busy lately. But at the same time I just haven't had time to post on this particular community. I've done a few rituals. I've been mostly successful. I do a lot of astral projection and dream recording. My mom does the tarot. It's been amazingly acurate. Anyway I was just wondering what everyone has been up to lately. Any new spells to share would be appreciated.

Hey. It's been awhile since I posted. But I was just wanted to say hello. I've been going through some very spiritual times. I've also been thinking quite a bit. Like every spare moment I think hmmmm what am i going to think about. It's crazy...I can't get enough of my books. I feel very odd. I also feel less belonging to my place of birth almost like
i should be somewhere else. I have constant dreams of my body flying over the ocean. I'm either guessing subconscious astrel projection or another life. I'd love your opinion.

Well it is officially Yule and the first day of winter. I don't know about the rest of you but we did have one snow shower (for lack of a better term) here in South Eastern CT on Dec. 8. Other then that... Nada. The weather men said that we were supposed to get snow yesterday afternoon but as always.... New England weather gave us a chilly overcast day for most of the day then the sun peeked out for an hour or so and now the skys are crystal clear. Oh well cant win them all....

I met another wiccan. I was so happy. I was like oh my goddess I can't believe it, plus she's like in some of my classes. I'm like kick ass. We think a like and she is great. We both want to make this wall of shattered mirror on a wall of our rooms. I didn't think anyone else thought the same way I do. It's great.
I watched two movies this weekend. The CRAFT and Practical Magic. The Craft was kind of silly, I really don't think there helping us come out by making movies like that. Oh and Practical Magic I thought was actually pretty good it has Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock, I defeniatly recommend it. UMMMMMM. Lets see. Oh yes if you could give me some of your thoughts and feelings on these movies if you've seen them or not whatever. I'd just like to see how everyone feels.

I can't wait till samhian(sp?) It's going to be great. I'm already making plans. So what is everyone doing for it. I'd like to hear what everyone likes to do.
Do you get dressed up? I've done it a few times but this year I'm going all out. So give me some input on some ideas.
Oh and I'm going to this quaker thing on sunday just wanted to know what it's all about and what you do. If anyone knows what they do please the info is greatly appriciated.
