Hey everyone...I am new to LJ and am looking for a "few good men" (LOL)
ANYWAYS...I am an Anarchist and Punk first, but at the suggestion of a very very good friend, I have taken up the study of Zen Buddhism and meditation (first for my own mental health and second because it claims to be a non-religion) However, I am an avid student of Anarchist Literature and Theory (from all walks of life and perspectives) so I just learn and learn and learn...I am also an avid student and reader of philosophy, sociology, anthropology, and life in general. So, my question is, would it be within the realms of being compassionate (which I try to, but the "offensive" clothing I adorn myself with, along with my outlandish tattoos and hair color etc etc) to practice Anarchy? Is there a way I could incorporate a little bit of Zen, but not enough that it would interfere with my expressions of anger and discontent? Forgive my ignorance, I'm just looking for different perspectives. Links, opinions, literature would be greatly APPRECIATED! I also need friends who are willing to read my angry rants...my work has been compared to a cross between Irvine Welsh and Jello Biafra.

P.S. I am also interested in laws regarding flag burning in Arizona. Ive never done it before to a actual cloth version of the flag, and any suggestions for safety (I dont want to burn a house down, nor do I want to be arrested by the goons in this police state) or safe places to do it and qquipment needed would be wonderful and horrorshow. |

You know what torments me is looking around at all the things that are wrong with the world today (My finger is pointed at YOU, President Pinnocio(even though you're just the spokesman) ) and feeling like I'm held back from really doing anything because of my circumstances. Specifically, I want to rush out and do a bunch of brave, flashy things to make the world better for my kids...which would only be terrible for my kids, because it would take me away from them, destabalize thier envronment, and possible even put them in danger. |

I should have known that when I met my current GF, she was overweight, and planning on staying that way. I was wrong in thinking that she would try to get in shape, even though she said she would.
I was wrong in thinking that she would try and work on her career goals, and pay the huge amount of bills that she has accumulated. I was wrong in thinking that being fired from several jobs, having her car repo'd, and owing a lot of people money, would be enough of a wake up call to get her shit together.
I should have realized that when she had a problem, I was supposed to listen to her, and then watch as she chose to do nothing about her situation.
I should have realized that when she lied to me about stuff at the beginning, that she would continue to lie about things.
I should have realized that she will always be this way.
I should have saved my time and worked on meeting someone else.
I think I will.

The blacks are taking over this country, and it is NOT good. I am so tired of having to step aside for some nigger with their threats of suit for racial discrimination. Fucking unfair. They should get the hell out of this country. And another thing I am tired of is this goddamn "ghetto fabulous" scene. Now whites are into this rap shit and I cant wait for it to be over. |

Environmental justice activism through the sequential arts of comix. 'Read By / Best Before End' is an exciting new project I hope to debut in August at Caption and Climate Camp. Its an anthology aimed at bringing together people who have never drawn comix before and those who have. I'm also looking for a co-ordinating team. Operation Bite has me worried. For those not in the know, its twenty-four hours of air-strikes planned for Iran on Friday April 6th. The intended targets are weapons bases, research centres and laboratories. Regardless, innocent people are going to be killed in another illegal war, aggressors the Bush regime, with Tony Blair providing the ignition.

This is managing to crawl off the interwebs and alternatives onto mainstream papers but its not fast enough. Most of the focus seems to be on the 'igniter' of the fifteen British prisoners. I've emailed every newspaper in Northern Ireland on this. I don't want to see some newscaster break down in tears on screen three or four months from now, crying about how he warned them but nobody would listen. An answer to this 'preventitive war' bull is preventitive news, and if there is no Operation Bite this Friday or between now and the summer, then I'll be happy I've been proved wrong. (see userpic) |
