Dracula - Rika style!
Mar. 12th, 2009 08:43 pmSo I finally got around to watching Dracula (took way longer then I expected) and, to put it simply, I loved it!
Every now and then a play comes along and blindsides you with its brilliance. It reminds you just how amazing and wonderful live theater can be when everything fits together and everyone shines.
Dracula is certainly one of those plays for me.
Is it a thought provoking play? No. Does it have some deep internal soul searching moments? No. Will this play change your life? No. Does this play answer the age old question "I wonder what it would be like if Dracula's brides were played by former otokoyaku?"? Yes. Yes it does :)
What this play is, is fun. Its entertaining, amusing, and an escape from everyday drudgery. It reminds us that not every play needs to be deep and brooding and life changing. It doesn't take itself too seriously and invites us to have fun with it and share a few chuckles.
Now, with that being said click below for my complete thoughts on this play (full of fan-girl giggling and Rika in a poofy dress awesomeness!)
Note: I may have some actor's names wrong. I suck at Kanji ^.^;

Rika wonders why this whole business of vampires and roses seems so familiar . . .
( Rika . . . in a big fluffy dress you say? )
