This community celebrates the gangster film in all its various forms...from the 1903 short The Great Train Robbery to the latest hip Tarantino-inspired flick...from the actors who have defined the gangster, such as Cagney, Bogart, Robinson, Brando, Pacino, and DeNiro...to the directors who have helped shape the genre, including Walsh, Scorsese, De Palma, Coppola, and Tarantino.
While this community is primarily interested in the gangster/mobster/crime film, we welcome posts on related genres, such as detective and film noir, as well as sub-genres such as prison, heist, and chase films.
It would be nice for those who join the community to make an introductory post with answers to the following questions, just so we can get to know each other a little better.
1. What is your favorite gangster film? 2. Who is your favorite gangster actor? 3. Who is your favorite gangster film character, and in what film does he or she appear? 4. Who is your favorite director in the gangster genre? 5. What is your favorite quote or piece of dialog? 6. What is your favorite scene?
