Wendy (웬디) is a South Korean singer under SM Entertainment. She is a member of the girl group, Red Velvet, and the project girl group, GOT the beat. She also made her solo debut on April 5, 2021 with the mini album, Like Water.
History[]
2014: Debut with Red Velvet[]
In late-July 2014, Wendy was assigned to represent the color blue and chosen to be the main vocalist of Red Velvet, which debuted on August 1, 2014 with the single, "Happiness".
2021: Solo debut & GOT the beat[]
On March 10, 2021, SM Entertainment announced that Wendy would be making her solo debut in April. On March 24, 2021, a teaser photo was released, confirmed that she will be releasing her first mini album, Like Water, on April 5.
On December 27, 2021, she, alongside her group mate Seulgi, were announced to be a part of the first unit of SM Entertainment's project girl group, Girls on Top, called "GOT the beat". They will debut on January 3, 2022, with their first digital single "Step Back".
