fix(memory): the memory banner drops a pending read after a start - #7122
Conversation
The poll was guarded by the start generation, but the shared read (at mount, after a failure, when a run ends, when the import finishes) was not: one still pending when the user started the move wrote its earlier idle status over the running one. The read now captures the generation and drops its answer when a start or retry happened meanwhile.

Priority: ⬇️ Low Estimated code review effort: 2 (Simple) | ~10 minutes Change: Bug fix · Severity of issue fixed: Low Suggested reviewers: Merge Risk: ⚪ Minimal · up to This change stops a late, out-of-date read from restoring the "Migrate now" offer over a running migration. It also stops a stale failure from hiding the offer after a failed start. It is limited to the Memory page banner and includes tests, so no merge-blocking risk is evident. 🚥 Pre-merge checks | ✅ 4 | ❌ 1❌ Failed checks (1 warning)

- Line 160: Update the scan rejection handler in MemoryImportBanner so it checks
the current generation against mStatusGen before clearing mScan or scheduling a
retry. Ignore failures from scans whose generation became stale after a start or
retry, while preserving handling for the current scan.

A read made obsolete by a start or retry dropped its answer, but its failure still cleared the scan and scheduled a retry, hiding the offer for a retry interval after a failed start.

MemoryImportBanner.tsx:220, "Invalidate pending scan responses when a move starts"), whose stacked diff showed this file.Solution
mStatusGenmoves above the read effect. The read captures it when it starts and returns without writing whengen !== mStatusGen.current. A start or retry since then owns the status, and the run's end reads again.Submission Checklist
