Archibald "Archie" Everhardt is one of the four tritagonists in GOAT. He's a indian rhinoceros, one of the professional roarball players for the Vineland Thorns, known for his strength and intimidating presence on the field.

Physical Appearance[]

Archie is a Indian Rhinoceros. He has thick, grey skin. He has a small forehead with two small ears and a green headband. he has a rather large face, with a single big horn above his nose. He also has a thick neck. Archie's shirt is very large. he also has big feet with purple shoes.

Personality[]

Archie Everhardt possesses a stoic, world-weary temperament defined by the heavy burden of being a single father and an aging athlete in a high-impact sport. Unlike the frantic energy of his coach, Archie carries himself with a quiet, brooding intensity and a protective paternal instinct that extends beyond his own daughter to include his younger teammates. He operates with a resilient, blue-collar work ethic, valuing grit and physical endurance over flashy maneuvers, yet beneath his thick-skinned, rhinoceros exterior lies a vulnerable core of insecurity regarding his fading relevance on the court and his ability to provide a stable future for his family. Archie seems to represent the traditional powerhouse of the sport — a confident, experienced player who initially underestimates Will's potential. Although he supported and accepted Will being part of his team for their teamwork for the victory against the Lava Coast Magma.

Biography[]

Archie Everhardt is a veteran rhino roarball player for the Vineland Thorns and a single father navigating the twilight of his professional career. As the team's starting center, he serves as a physically imposing anchor on the court, though his narrative is defined more by his paternal responsibilities and the emotional toll of maintaining his status in a sport that increasingly favors younger, faster athletes.

Archie's journey is one of resilience and professional survival. Faced with the Thorns' losing streak and the pressure of raising his daughter in a high-stakes environment, he initially views the arrival of the rookie goat, Will Harris, with seasoned skepticism. However, as the season progresses, Archie transitions into a protector and mentor figure, utilizing his massive frame to shield Will from the league's more aggressive enforcers. His arc culminates in the championship game against the Lava Coast Magma, where he overcomes his physical limitations to deliver a pivotal defensive performance, proving that his veteran experience and raw strength are essential to the team's ultimate victory.

Abilities and Skills[]

Archie Everhardt functions as the physically dominant anchor of the Vineland Thorns, possessing an unrivaled brute-force capacity that defines the team's defensive interior. His primary skill set is built upon immense kinetic power and a low center of gravity, allowing him to act as an immovable barricade against even the most aggressive opposing centers. He excels in high-impact defensive maneuvers, utilizing his massive frame to execute crushing blocks and secure vital rebounds through sheer physical intimidation and veteran positioning.

Beyond his raw strength, Archie demonstrates remarkable situational awareness born from years of professional experience, enabling him to predict offensive drives before they materialize. He is a specialist in screen-setting and area denial, creating safe pockets for his more agile teammates, like Will, to exploit. His ultimate ability is his resilient physical endurance, which allows him to maintain a high level of performance despite the mounting toll of a long career, serving as a stoic, reliable cornerstone that stabilizes the team under extreme pressure.

Trivia[]

  • Archie is a single father to two twin daughters, named Adi and Ari.
  • In the Roarball Interview featurette, things get awkward fast between Archie Everhardt and Modo. It's a huge character moment that shows just how thin Archie's patience has become. During the sit-down with Chuck and Rusty, Modo goes for the jugular, calling Archie "soft like an overripe banana" before doubling down and telling him he "smelled like regret." Chuck and Rusty lose it, but their laughter dies in their throats the second Archie starts to stand up. You can practically see the fuse burning down. Everyone knows Archie is famous for snapping, and this "about to blow" moment plays right into the rumors that he's struggling with anger management. He's desperate to prove he hasn't "gone soft," and Modo's insults nearly push him over the edge on live TV.
  • Another example of him snapping is where Mane clotheslines Will Harris right in front of the refs, and they just watch it happen. That no-call is the spark. The rest of the Vineland Thorns swarm the court to back up their rookie, and it's an instant bench-clearing brawl. Will tries to hold his own against the much bigger Mane, but Mane just looks down at him and sneers, "Small." That's the exact moment Archie snaps. His protective streak hits a breaking point, and he steps in with a roar that shuts everyone up: "HE'S NOT A SMALL! HE'S. A. MEDIUM!"Archie doesn't stop there. He lunges at Mane and then tears through Mane's teammates like a wrecking ball before the officials finally toss him from the game. It's an unfair ejection, but it proves one thing: Archie is Will's absolute muscle, and he'll take on an entire roster to prove the kid belongs.
  • In the Malaysian theatrical release version, he was voiced by Zul Ariffin instead.
  • He is the second character to be voiced by a main actor in Stranger Things, the first being Will.
