So I'm excited there's a site out there for this...I'm having 2 dilemmas!! My fiance and I are in Maui right now prescoping for the wedding and we are trying to get some things done for the wedding. First of all, I cannot seem to find a good place to get a grooms shirt like this one: http://www.mauishirts.com/palm-trees-white-on-white-rayon-aloha-wedding-shirt.html
I'd hate to order something online, it makes me nervous. Does anyone have any good ideas for this? I'm only here for a week more and I'd really like to find something. God I know I'm being picky...but I only get married once! :)
My second dilemma is finding something to do for a small reception after the wedding for about 40 people. Does anyone have any good ideas that wouldn't be too expensive? A bbq type thing would be great, but I don't know any places that would let me have one...

So here is my dilemma. I am getting married in Maui, August 2008...I have been putting off a lot of the planning because when I start to think about it all I get very frustrated and overwhelmed. I have never been one of those girls who has dreamed about her wedding day and had it all planned out. I am looking for something nice, on the beach (preferably) that can accomodate about 30 people total. His family is in New Jersey, and mine are here in California. What do you guys suggest for venues? Who are good vendors? I am looking to do a simple ceremony with a small reception after so where are some places that you have found that might be good for this?...and the next day (or the day prior to the wedding)I want to take everyone out to a luau. I went to a fabulous luau the last time I was in Hawaii but I cannot remember the name!
I want this wedding to be a memorable experience for everyone involved, because with his family living on the east coast this is a big deal for them to go out to Hi.
I looked at the beautiful photographs posted in this community so I know you guys have some great ideas, and I'm just looking to be pointed in the right direction of where to go and what to do. Thanks everyone!

Where in Hawai'i is your (event) taking place: I have done some basic research into Hawaii, but I can pretty much say that I know nothing about the islands. At this point, we are looking at Kuai as it seems the most pristine, wild, scenic, untouched-by-civilization. We are NOT into browsing the city, shopping, etc. We'd much rather hike, drive around scenic places, have fun adventurous experience. And, of course we would love to spend a few days swimming in the ocean and lazying on the beach. Any tips and suggestions on WHERE actually to go and stay, and have the ceremony would be appreciated!

What are you looking forward to in Hawai'i: Everything, absolutely everything. I am a photographer, and I can't wait to take loads of pictures. I know they will be truly beautiful

Since I began researching honeymoon locations, one idea I have completely fallen in love with is the dolphin swim experience. I am a huge animal lover and I would just LOVE to be able to touch a dolphin. Unfortunately, I'm only finding websites for such things for Oahu. We will be spending pretty much our entire vacation on Kauai, as we were told island hopping is expensive and time consuming, and we don't have a lot of money OR time to spare.
Does anyone know if Kauai has any Dolphin Swim opportunities? PLEASE?
And what about zoos? I definitely want to see some animals, but so far I've found zoos in Honolulu and Hilo. I don't think it would be very enjoyable to try and get to the zoo while we're on layover, so I really want to find these things on Kauai, if they exist.
I'm mostly looking for animal-oriented ideas at the moment, but if you have other suggestions for Kauai activities, please share! Hanggliding? Parasailing?
So far we're looking at hiking, zipline tours, inner tube, trying out snorkeling...
