Ideally, you should consider speaking to a travel medicine doctor 4-6 weeks before travel.

Whilst it is never too late to vaccinate for some diseases (e.g. hepatitis A) other vaccines are given as a course over a few weeks, whereas others require time to build up protection. If the individual doesn’t have a basic level of immunity from early childhood. A decent level of protection may not be possible if seen as a last minute traveller.

We recommend that the adults are present for the virtual travel medicine consultation, so discussion can be had around their individual health concerns. Children under the age of 16 do not need to be present. Our system can provide up to 4 links into a single consultation.
