My intro and such
I am a 19 (teehee I love that number) year-old female SK constant reader from NC. I have read: The Talisman (my favorite of all SK's works) Black HouseThe ENTIRE DT series Rose Madder Christine From a Buick 8 Skeleton Crew Eyes of the DragonAnd I am currently reading Bag of BonesOkay, my list isn't TOO comprehensive, but I am a CONSTANT reader. If anyone has any suggestions on anything that they think of as one of King's best works, let me know, I wanna read em all, but I wanna read something that I can get into... lol. I hope this gunslinger's apprentice hasn't rambled too much for ya! ;) Long days, and pleasant nights to you. Current Mood: Aahhhh... a SK community! |

Somewhere far beyond
Some of you might know that there's a german Fantasy Metal Band called "Blind Guardian". In 1992 they made a song about the dark tower: "Somewhere far beyond". If you want to listen to it click here(I think the file is stored for 2 weeks or so, if something doesn't work please tell me! ^^) ( LyricsCollapse ) Current Mood: amused |

TDT Poem
I was online the other day. And i saw this poem. It is most definately about The Dark Tower. I think it's pretty good. Let me know what you guys think of it. It seems to capture aspects of the story really well. ( The Dark TowerCollapse ) |

Hi! I'm new here~ I'm from germany...and I'm nineteen years old (lol) As I was 14 I read "The Gunslinger", which is called "Schwarz" (black) here in germany. At that time "Drawing of three" ("Drei" - three) and "Wastelands" ("tot." - dead) had been published already, so I could read all three consecutive. I did not realize that "Wizard and glass" ("Glas" - glass) already had been published in 1999 (<= lol again), but when I was in the library in 2003 my boyfriend found the book - I was so surprised! He could not understand my hysteria; now he's reading "Drawing of the three" and is in love with Midworld, too. 2 or 3 weeks ago I finished "The dark Tower" ("Der Turm" - the tower)...and all I have to say is: "WOW". I cried while reading it (stupid? I don't think so) and first I was not satisfied with the end. But now I started to read the first books again - it's very interesting after 5 years; also because the new editions of Dark Tower I - IV have been corrected in 2003. So this was my (very interesting *cough*) story about my experiences with Rolands story. And here's a link to a strange comic (dunno if anyone posted it before; if so: SORRY) http://www.dtcartoon.net/ Current Mood: blah |

I'm ready to start the discussing. What we begin with, is unknown. Having just begun The Stand, i'm enthralled. I'm totally committed to going indepth into TDT. Let's get the ball rolling here and start it up shall we? |

Okay....I'm back, but...
still confused. So, are those of you "watching", waiting for me to do something? (To add you?) Or simply waiting for the community to get rolling to "join"?? Also, as we seem to have a number of commenters if not members, how shall we begin discussion without spoiling? Assuming everyone knows how to use an LJ cut we could post spoilers behind cuts, but would need to be fairly ambiguous in our subjects, as well. As a fledgling moderator, I'm off to email everyone who has commented in the hopes of actually adding members. All suggestions are welcome! Long days and pleasant nights to all Current Mood: contemplative |

Welcome!
Welcome victim...er-uh...new member! *s* I'm so pleased you've joined. Hopefully we'll enjoy many a rambling metaphorical dialogue...maybe in time others will join us. Please, I if you have finished TDT, do not spoil! I live in a small town in the middle of BFE and have as yet to pick up a copy. I'm currently making my way through the whole series (yet again) having just finished rereading Wolves of the Calla while simultaneousely rereading a number of related works. Currently The Talisman, next Black House. Again, welcome.... Current Mood: pleased |
