Fiction, Non-Fiction and Poetry Submissions

The goal of Hungarian Literature Online is to promote literature translated from the Hungarian language, so we are primarily interested in work that has been translated into English from Hungarian, but we do also enjoy receiving work written originally in English by Hungarian authors, or on topics that relate to Hungarian literature, culture, and common affairs.

For fiction and non-fiction, please send us no more than 5,000 words. For poetry no more than 6 pages. Submissions should be made in Microsoft Word files (preferably .doc), and should include bios of no more than 100 words for the author and translator.

And please do acquire any necessary rights or permissions before submitting.

Critical Writing Submissions

We publish new reviews and translated reviews of titles by Hungarian authors, or titles relating to Hungary. If you are interested in writing a review for us, or translating a review that has been published in Hungarian, please send an email including your idea(s) to: hloeditors@gmail.com
