Interested in history? Interested in having something to do Tuesday nights (weather permitting) and weekends whenever you like? Come check out the Shire of Owl's Nest!
We are an active historical reenactment group based in Cobb County.
Owl's Nest Fighter Practice is every Tuesday night at
Bells Ferry Park, from 6:30pm to 9pm (roughly). Stop by anytime to see and learn from women and men who sword fight and fence, medieval dance, and just socialize, craft, and learn more about the SCA and the past.
About the
Society for Creative Anachronism:
The SCA is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe. Our "Known World" consists of 19 kingdoms, with over 30,000 members residing in countries around the world. Members, dressed in clothing of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, attend events which may feature tournaments, arts exhibits, classes, workshops, dancing, feasts, and more.
We welcome children of all ages in our group, and we make a real effort to keep the kids interested and active. Let me know if you have any questions, if I don't have the answers, I'll get you in touch with the people who do. And if you're not near Cobb County, there are several other Shires in Georgia that you might be interested in.
