About the Series
In a world where only women can be witches,
one unsuspecting boy acquires their power.
In this world, witches must hunt down their magic! Deep in the forest, the terrifying king of magic and the strongest witch are locked in deadly combat. But suddenly, a young boy joins the fray. His name is Ichi and he is just a hunter. But he has the power to flip the magic world upside down in this magic hunting fantasy epic!
Ichi is a reclusive hunter who knows nothing of Witches and Majiks, but he does have a particular obsession for hunting anything that exudes bloodlust. When that instinct leads him to interfere in a battle between the great Witch Desscaras and the horrifying King Majik Uroro, against all odds, he acquires the destructive magic of Uroro, making him the only male Witch in the entire world. And not even Desscaras herself is prepared for the absolute headache that wild child Ichi is about to give her.
After bringing Ichi to the Witch's Association to prove his legitimacy as the first male Witch, the association creates the Desscaras Squad. Consisting of the famous Witch herself, Ichi, and a timid girl from the research department named Kumugi, the squadâs first mission is to defeat the Majik ice shark Hisame. Upon discovering villagers frozen in ice, Hisame announces her specific trialâto make her beautiful. While Desscaras and Kumugi struggle, Ichi comes up with a surprising yet effective way to overcome this odd trial.
While Ichi and Team Desscaras face off against Togeice in the Majik-hunting contest, Ichi is stopped in his tracks by the worst murderous intent he has ever feltâthe World-Hater Majik. This Majik is the number-one enemy of not only the Witchesâ Association but all life itself. As Ichi battles it, Desscaras joins the fray, showing why she is known as the most powerful Witch of their era. But will it be enough to save the townspeople and themselves before the World-Hater Majik annihilates the entire region?
Ichi is kidnapped by a mysterious man named Gokuraku, who is marked for arrest by the Witchesâ Association due to his brutal attacks on Majiks. But Gokuraku is no mere thugâhe is the prince of Kagami, desperate to save his people from the Majik they revere. Hated by both his people and the Association, Gokuraku may yet find an ally in the worldâs only male Witch.
While already in battle against a follower of the Human-Hater Majik Bakugami, Ichi must also fight Gokuraku, who has absorbed all of the sorrow of his countryâs people and is attacking friend and foe alike. Will Ichi and Gokurakuâs bond of close friendship be enough to help Gokuraku break free of his rage and see the light once more?
Ichi is forced to attend a party at the Witchesâ Association, a soiree where he will be unveiled as the first male witch. While there, he is confronted by the calculating, manipulative Spica, who wants to take the place of her sister Kumugi on Team Descarras! Kumugi is ready to comply, but will Ichi fall for such a trap? Meanwhile, a mysterious man has infiltrated the association as a waiter. His target? The Oracle Witch Jikishirone.
Ichi and the others encounter the "Time Majik" that controls time aboard the ghost ship Chronostasis, along with its wife, Minerva. Welcomed by the couple, Team Desscaras learns they harbor no hostility and decide to abandon their pursuit of mastering time manipulation. However, Minerva's pregnancy stirs controversy when the Prophecy Witch, Jikishirone, makes a startling declaration... Then, the colossal Majik beast "Kizashi", dwelling in the Pendulum Seas, attacks, ushering in a new, fierce battle against a vicious foe!
To save his wife Minerva, whose life is in danger, Chronoweaver uses his magic to confront the Octobomb Majik âKizashiâ. Amid the stalemate, a vicious secret technique unleashed by Kizashi suddenly strikes the Desscaras team as they rush to retreat! Meanwhile, Desscaras, facing the trial of the Reverser Majik âHitsugiâ, crushes the onslaught of the dead with her overwhelming power. However, Hitsugiâs quietly laid schemes beneath their fangs, and the strongest witch is driven to the brink of despairâĶ!?
