My girlfriend is an Australian and I am an American. We first considered my immigrating to Australia because they permit same-sex partner immigration, but we feel we would have a better life in America and we are not sure what ways, if any, are available for her to at least start on the immigration process, i.e. which visa she might go for. She has not finished high school in Australia, and we are going to look into getting that certificate for her, as well as some other work/school experience to broaden job possibilities for maybe a work visa. Does anyone know what might be the best approach other than these things to get her started with the immigration process, like finding unskilled work etc?
