Happy Buck Frobisher Day!

They will call this day the 11th of March indeed.

Ugh, why is it Sunday? I do not like Sundays. It's even worse today because due to Things, the shopping trip had to be moved today so there is no going into Boston, alas. That's all right, though, I'll be back down there soon enough. May 13th is the Duckling Day Parade as it happens and I will so be there.

In other news, there is not a whole lot. Three more days until I fly down to PA for my little niece's birthday. It's a short trip so I am hoping it will not involve any family drama. I just want to play with my niece and maybe color with her if I'm really lucky. Depending on how scheduling things work out, I might get to see the Avengers on Friday but if not then, definitely soon. I have Feelings about Joss but from all accounts, the movie sounds pretty fantastic and I cannot wait.

On the app front, I am frustrated and wanting to shoot the computer screen. This should not be so difficult but it is, somehow. Probably I just need to gird my loins, open up the damn tab and stare until the words start coming out.

GIP, what?

So I'm pretty much posting this for the icon and to link to this because some things should be shared. Oh, Plushenko. What else can I say?

So yes.

So after a day of being dragged out of the house at ass o'clock, I've gotten back home and have had time to sit down and read my Yuletide fic and it is all kinds of awesome and win.

It's Life on Mars (UK) and it's a lovely little piece about Gene being in trouble and Sam rescuing him and you should go read it. It captures their relationship so beautifully and the characterization is dead on.

On the gift that I wrote side, my recipient loved it and that really makes my night. This is only my second year doing this, but the joy really makes it all so worthwhile.

Oooh, it's a new Chess community. Hopefully this one will stick around.

I live, more or less, but I wanted to bring you this very important message.

Go here to read some awesome Chess/Doctor Who fic, involving the Arbiter. I assure you, you won't regret it.

So, here it is, 2009. I'm not really up to looking back on 2008 at the moment, though I may do that later.

In the meantime, the author reveal for Yuletide is up, and I did, in fact, write this. I am absolutely stunned by the comments and recs I received. I truly didn't think anyone other than [livejournal.com profile] meemsers, who this was written for, would comment.

I did also put the story up on the writing journal here so there's that.

I am now going to take more decongestants and attempt not to drown in mucous.
