I go by Independence1776 on all sites (SWG, AO3, Tumblr, etc.) save LJ (indy1776) and ff.net, where I'm Crystal113 (I haven't posted there since 2012).
I have one main fandom (Star Wars) and two I still care deeply about but am no longer in (Tolkien bookverse and Young Wizards). I also write original fiction, but I don't post that online.
Current Fandom
Star Wars: Prequels and Rebels with side jaunts into JFO. I've loved the Original Trilogy since 1994, love the Prequels, and ignore the Sequels and post-OT Disney canon despite primarily working with Prequels/Imperial-era Disney canon. (I grew up with the 1990s Legends canon, but don't work with it in fandom.) I am a decades-long Jedi fan. Some of my favorite characters are Luke, Kanan/Caleb, Depa Billaba, Mace Windu, Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Mara Jade, Cal Kestis. I primarily write in the Kanan comics niche of the Rebels subfandom.
Previous Fandoms:
Tolkien: I wrote primarily about Maglor, Elrond, and some of the people related to them. Given that, it'll be no surprise that my favorite character is Elrond, followed closely by Maglor. I have many other favorites, including Celebrían, Arwen, Nerdanel, and Lúthien. All of my Tolkien fic can be found on SWG. Save for a few fics and my ficlet collection, my Tolkien fic can also be found on AO3. I sometimes make moodboards.
My definition of Tolkien canon: The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and The Silmarillion. HoME, Letters, etc. are not canon. I take bits and pieces from the latter sources if they fit my story, and ignore what does not. In general, though, I work with the round earth from “Myths Transformed” in HoME X, though it does not often come up explicitly in my stories.
Young Wizards: This is a fandom I'm happy to squee about anytime someone wants to. I don't create anything anymore for this fandom, though I do run an inactive YW comm here on Dreamwidth and actively participate in the CrossingsCon Slack and the very quiet Out of Ambit Discord.
The others, in chronological order from the beginning: Mutant X, Merlin, Doctor Who (Eleven and the Ponds era for reading and writing; Doctor/Rose/Jack for reading), MCU (Loki-centric writing; my reading taste could be described as "these are the relationships I won't read but I'll read everything else"), and a few minor canons here and there.
All of my non-Tolkien fic is on AO3.
Works Based On Mine: Fanart, fanmixes, and ficbinding yes; please ask about translations. Everything else-- including podfic-- is a no.
