Bandana day was ruined because travor told us gangs were too sensitive an issue. so to get back at him, instead of a harmless Bandana day, we're having a whole gang-wars week. (Nov. 8-12) Join a gang: The Red-team: The Bloods The Blue-team: The Crypts Show your support and wear your gang's color all week any way you can. Obviously if you can't wear the same color shirt all week, just tie a bandana or a ribbon around your arm, or even cheaper, use a red or blue marker to draw a big B for the Bloods, and a big C for the crypts on the back of your hand DON'T TAKE IT TOO SERIOUSLY CHILDREN. Instead of expecting you kids to send invites out to join the community (since I realize that today's youth is pretty lazy from which i was reminded of when talking about fund-raisers at our school that about 10 people out of 300 actually participate me. Which i suppose i dont participate either, so i cant blame them. But JLHC is different! We aren't some massive conglomerate brain-washing facility bent on world-domination like some of the other things people expect you to participate. No JLHC cares about good-will, and family values, and pasting pictures of babies's faces onto dinosaurs bodies and going "RAWR I'm diapasaurus-rex!") Ok Hotcake Nation, I know by now many of you have noticed that JLHC is no longer accesible to the public. Its true, I have taken it down in order to do construction on it. It will be back, better then ever by the announced re-opening date of october 31st. Once construction is done, i may even be able to put the old site back up in the meantime, we'll see how it goes. I discussed plans with allen, and we're set in for our Oct 31st date. He's getting warming his photoshop up for plenty of hilarious pictures, and I should have the hotcake videos complete by then. I shall also be posting ALL user submitted photos from this LJ community, so if you want to make this re-opening that much better, Help out and post some fun pictureness. A few people were complaining to me that I allowed that post that said Vote for Sarah Vodzak for Homecoming Queen. Apparently its too political for a crazy crazy place like JLHC. To which i only told them that I'm leaving this community open to any type of post that anyone wants to post. This is a completely open environment, so post anything you want. But just remember, if you post something serious, don't be all sad that people didn't take you seriously here haha. Like that person that posted that Anti-war poem in the JLHC forums before, and we replied about pirates and such. Haha that was great... in fact... ARRR MATEY!! Ok boys and girls, Here is the skinny. Next weekend I'm gonna be in washington. The weekend after that, t-shirts or not, I'm gonna start filming for Hotcake Videos. Help would be greatly appreciated, we need to put together a small film crew to film me and Allen interviewing various strangers and doing various random things. I'm going to then need a week for post-film production. I've got the video production studio on my computer, and it is a b*tch to do, but it can come out all professional and sh*t, its gonna be great. So the grand Re-Opening of Just Like Hotcakes is now planned for Halloween. Thats right, Halloween Kids. Other then the videos, Allen should be cooking up photoshop fun while I'm doing production, and all this week before I leave for Washington I'll be working on completely re-vamping the site. New look and everything, it's going to be great. Oh and Jana's post gives me a great Idea. For photo submissions like that, I think I might just make a whole seperate section on JLHC for user submitted Photos. If user submitter writing gets popular we'll see about adding a section for that too, I;m just crossing my fingers that people want to participate. I've currently posted invites to this community to almost everyone on my friends list who keep their journals up-to-date. But I know that there are lots of people not on my friends list who have livejournals and are fans of JLHC, so we need your help to get the word out. Just picture everyone who's been to JLHC with livejournals posting a picture every once in a while. We'd be positively overwhelmed with new material, it'd be ridiculous, and amazing for the fans. My dream has always been a JLHC with fan participation, and this community makes that a possibility. (All new guidlines take effect after October 31st) So I'm gonna add some new guidelines to User-Submitted Photo Posts: -We reserve the right to delete and/or not post anything we deem unacceptable to the site. -After posting, you must give us time before we post it online. Don't expect immediate attention, we are busy men. -Be aware, that by posting, unless you specifically state otherwise, we may photoshop it before posting it on the site. - You are allowed to post photos in the LJ community, without us posting them on the site, just post it normally without the submission form. I think that just about does it. The thing i wanted to stress most importantly with the new guidelines is us being able to photoshop your stuff. Cause thats definately important. Which brings me to another point: we need more photoshoppers. If you want to be a big help, take a few hours and learn Adobe Photoshop 7.0. If you don't have access to it, come see me, and I'll give you a self-installing copy, free of charge. It truly is not that difficult to learn. I learned it specifically for JLHC. In fact some of my earlier photo posts were made using MSPaint, and not Adobe Photoshop 7.0. Well I think thats all the JLHC news I have for you for now.
