oh, and i've notice the misconception that you "need" and iPod to list to "podcasts" .. this is not true, as a iPod is a MP3 player, and MP3 have been and will always be playable on a computer. hopefully, most of you understand that... so basically, if you can read this, you can listen to the podcast.. assuming you have access to speakers/headphones, and a working soundcard..

Would anyone happen to know when the Alchemy series draws to a close?  (like which Vol. N°)

I live all the way in the Third World and the only time I could get Kabuki is when it's all compiled in paperback.
I've combed through book shops and comic alleys just to complete my collection.

I got Skin Deep before Masks of Noh and Scarab before Metamorphosis (actually, my last purchase)

Does Icon deliver overseas?

David Mack Art to be Auctioned for Chairty [31 Jul 2006|01:01pm]

This was recently on David Mack's Message Board. He has already donated several pieces to be auctioned off for this wonderful cause!!

They are still accepting donations of art to be auctioned off, so if you are an artist why not follow David's excellent example? =)

Dear Friends,

Each year the National Multiple Sclerosis Society holds the MS 150 Breakaway to the Beach Bike Tour in South Carolina. Funds raised from this event go to directly benefit those living in the area with multiple sclerosis as well as their families. It's the support of local communities that help fund research and programs for those living with MS in the Carolinas.

I participated in the bike tour last year but this year will have special meaning for me. I have become part of the Champions Against MS program which pairs up cyclists with people with MS. I have dedicated this year's ride to Carolee Merkle who has been a special friend of Heroes Aren't Hard to Find for more than three years.

Each year I and thousands of other riders not only ride 150 miles in two days but we work hard in the months leading up to the bike tour to raise money for those with MS. This year I have decided to take my fundraising to the next level by holding my first art auction to benefit the National MS Society and I would like you to be a part of it.

My plan is to collect works of art between July and September to auction on Ebay. All proceeds will go directly to the National MS Society. Please help me surpass my fundraising goals and join the fight to end the devastating effects of MS.

If you are interested in participating please contact me at (704) 375-7462 or by email at Shelton@heroesonline.com. If you would like more information about the National MS Society please contact Carolee Merkle at (704) 525-2955 ext. 113 or by email at carolee.merkle@ncp.nmss.org.

Sincerely,

Shelton Drum

I have been looking for an issue of Kabuki that I read awhile back, but I can't remember which one it exactly was.

Towards the beginning of the book the character gives a description of some of the Japanese hells, i.e. a hell for children where they build a wall out of stones to climb up but the oni always kick it down and they have to start over.

I'm sorry if this is vague but I don't know any Kabuki readers, lol. Anyone know what issue this is?

Where's the action? [24 Apr 2006|08:38pm]

I just found this community and I was so insanely excited over a Kabuki fansource! I like the icons and the pictures, but most of them are from last year T_T;...

I might do some fanart someday, but I don't really like copying work as much as making new. David Mack's work really inspires me (so does Dave McKean, I love them both!). I feel like complete dork and/or diehard fan in saying that I want to have the tattoo DX...good thing I don't have enough money to make a complete fool of myself! Anyone here have any Kabuki-inspired tats?

Hiya everyone!

I'm new... My dad brought back some 'alchemy' comics and I was hooked on Kabuki... I've just bought the others in the mini-series and 'Circle of Blood' (which I haven't had a chance to read yet).

I just wanted to tell everyone that in my local "pound shop" (the shops where everything is just £1!!!!) they're selling the Kabuki action figures!!!!!!!!
I was so excited!!!!!!!!! - i have one anyway - but it might prompt people to get into Kabuki!!!

If anyone wants one - let me know and i'll see if they've still got any left - i could maybe post a couple out!!!

Hope everyone's well

done in Prismacolor pencils, acrylics on Blueline Pro comic book paper, modeled after pink_preener.

close up on the face.

was fairly pleased with this until i had to decide on a background (my biggest weakness). a lot of the pencil work is lost here because i had to take a picture of it instead of scanning it in. anyhow, let me know what you think; can't get any better without feedback.

Posted by David, from here:
http://www.606studios.com/bendisboard/showthread.php?t=34055

I'm signing in LOS ANGELES at Golden Apple on Oct 19 (on Melrose)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wednesday October 19.

Giving you a month to see if you can make it.
I hope all the LA peeps on this board will be able to attend.

It was great to see so many of you in Long Beach.

I stop by Golden Apple a lot and they've been great supportors of me for ten years, but this is the FIRST EVER time I am doing a signing there.

They have a complete selection of all of the Kabuki collections.
They have a Bendis and Mack shelf that has all our stuff.

And I'll be bringing 11x17 prints and original art and other books and issues to make available.

I'll sign any of my work at no charge and no limit to how many I sign.

Call Golden Apple for any more details or directions323) 658-6047
Hollywood at 771 Melrose Ave.

And since Bendis is in town quite a bit, I'm asking him to stop by and sign as well

Feel welcome to copy and paste this and spread the work.
My only LA signing for the foreseeable future.
