Alex is off to a great start for the new school year when she meets the most perfect guy on campus the weekend before the semester begins. But fate takes a shocking turn come Monday when they meet once again—but at completely different circumstances. For right there she finds the man of her dreams standing in front of her class. Mr. Perfect just turned into Mr. Perfectly-off-limits!
Sir Isaac Newton’s 3rd Law states: “Every action has an opposite and equal reaction,“ and Alex learns that the same applies to love… only more complex. For love is an intricate concept: a spiraling web of science, fate, and feelings. And when feelings are involved, it gets complicated.
Just read "words fate and accidents" I'm so sorry I'm really behind but I've been reading everything you read and I died. You killed me. It really tugged on my emotions and made me almost cry!!,it was one of the most beautifulest things I've ever read. You really have a gift, I only WISH of writing like you 😭😭😭😭😢 you have a gift. Such a touching story. I'm so in love with the way you write tae!! Please keep writing about him. Actually, just please keep writing. And thank you for sharing.
Just finished editing the new version of “Laws of Motion and Attraction” and I have to admit… it only made me fall in love even more with Professor Kim. 😍 (Never thought it was possible😂)
Do pray for me as I submit this to various publishers in the next coming weeks 🙏🏼
Didn’t we have Promises & Constellations for that? :) Or are you hinting I write another one shot… :P
Although, the edited version of LOMA has a new ending… basically 4 new (never-before-seen chapters!!) Let’s keep our fingers crossed that a publisher will approve my manuscript once I start sending it out. keke~ (this is me teasing you lol)
@swoonreads is accepting manuscripts for cycle 8 and I have two books that are part of this season’s list. A few months ago, I released the novel version for Laws of Motion & Attractionand it has garnered a lot of reads, putting it on the list of highest rated and trending manuscripts on SwoonReads. I have you guys to thank for that achievement. I am really hoping and praying the editors would consider publishing the book!
Meanwhile, I was also editing another book which is the first in a series. CRAVEwas written in 2014 as a fanfiction, one which I know you all loved and swooned over. <3 And today, in the year 2016, I am releasing it again as a book series, this time.
I didn’t plan to release it on SwoonReads, wanting to submit to another publisher instead. But I figured I wanted you guys to read it and get feedback on the changes I’ve made. And it wouldn’t hurt to have another entry, right? :) Plus if it doesn’t work out, I can always resubmit to another publisher.
Okay without further ado, here’s how you can help me get it published! I already explained much of the details on my other post for Laws of Motion & Attraction, but I will post it here again for those who only ever read Crave.
Please explain… the “HEAVENLY SINS SERIES” :O
Okay, so CRAVEis the first book in the series which is actually an edited (and improved) version of the Crave fanfic from my Dark & Wild series. There are a lot of changes compared to what I’ve done in Laws of Motion & Attraction. The most important things you need to know are:
There are never before seen scenes– and new chapters! The fanfic was originally consisting of 11 chapters, but this book…. has 32!
Names. Though I did keep the names of the leads, the rest are different. I will provide a post where I’ll compare the character names from the fanfic and to this book. There’s also a minor character addition.
Improved dialogues and technical aspect (grammar, POV, spelling, etc.)
What is Swoon Reads?
It’s an imprint under Macmillan Publishers and Feiwel and Friends that publishes books through their website in the manner of crowd-sourcing; meaning if your manuscript gets a lot of ratings/comments, they would consider publishing your book into trade book and e-book. You can learn more about it here.
How can I help you publish CRAVE?
Simple… All you have to do is READ the book on the SwoonReads site, RATE (this is important!), WRITE COMMENTS (this too!), and SHARE! SwoonReads is looking for swoon-worthy young and new adult novels that will get the attention of the community. So the higher ratings I get, the more chances of getting my book published! <3
OKAY, GOT IT! How do I start?
You’ll need to make a SwoonReads account (it’s FREE!) here. With that you can access the e-book. Here’s the LINK. And that’s it! You can read and swoon over the book (again, for free!) Also, with an account you’ll be able to check out the other manuscripts and even submit one of your own!
I really want to get you published! What more can I do?
I really want that to happen too! And the best help would be to spread the word! I need to get as much readers to be noticed so recommending this book to your family and friends would be awesome! (Please keep in mind to recommend the NOVEL version)
As a final note, I hope you all enjoy this version. This story is very close to my heart and it means the world to me. I hope you will love it the way I have poured my love–blood sweat and tears–into writing this novel. ;)
Thank you guys! And yes, V…. We’re ready for you (again).
We’re still in the running for this book to be published ;) You have until Feb 28 to post your comments and ratings on Swoonreads! Let’s get Vladlen onto book shelves!
“V, what are you—” Before I could finish my sentence, V pushed me against the wall and pain immediately shot through my back.
“V—!”
“What did you see?” He asked darkly and I winced.
“N—nothing!” I stuttered, but the quiver in my voice gave me away.
“Don’t lie to me.”
“What exactly should I have seen, V?” I challenged, feeling a little out of breath; probably from the way my heart was beating rapidly in my chest at our close proximity. V was practically looming over me as his arms entrapped my form from either side. He was so close that I could feel the heat emanating from his body.
“Don’t test me.”
“I’m not.”
“You shouldn’t even have been here tonight.” He muttered, eyes looking wild and anxious. “What the hell were you doing here?!”
“S—Syvan—” I started but decided to stop, thinking that where I go was none of his business. “Because I wanted to go here.” I said instead.
“Why?” V glanced down, suddenly eyeing the dress I was wearing. A smirk played on his lips, which caused goose bumps to crawl across my skin. When he finally looked up, I saw his eyes have changed. There was desire burning deep within them— a craving reflected upon his stormy eyes that seemed to grow darker by the second. “I see…”
“You see what?” I snapped and just then I felt his hands travel up my arms almost sensually. My breath hitched at the contact but I remained still as a rock. I ought to have pushed him away but I couldn’t seem to do so. Not when he was caressing my skin so gently…slowly like I was delicate like glass.
Push him away, my mind ordered as he loomed closer, his cheek pressing against the side of my head. He was breathing heavily and I could feel his heart beating. To my surprise, it was in sync with mine.
Push him away! My mind screamed yet again, but my body only craved to hold him back; to touch him as he was touching me.
“You shouldn’t have come.” He whispered in my ear; deep voice shaking slightly as if he was having a hard time speaking. “You… you shouldn’t have… not when I’m—”
I could feel his lips on my ear, which made me shiver. “V…”
When his lips started to move, kissing my ear then travelling down to my neck, I felt the last of my control dissipating and I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him closer. V moaned against my touch and took it as permission to kiss me more. He held my waist and pulled me closer, his kisses becoming deeper—more desperate—and I could hardly breathe from the pleasure.
“V—"I gasped out his name, but V ignored it and continued leaving open-mouthed kisses along every inch of my skin: from my neck to my collarbones.
“V, I—” He silenced me as his lips captured mine at last, and I was surprised at how sweet he tasted. I kissed him back almost as hungrily; our tongues fighting for dominance.
But then…
A sudden pain hit my chest and I struggled to breathe. I tried to push him away with as much force I could muster but I was already feeling out of breath and too weak. And then I opened my eyes, and fear crept within me when our eyes locked.
They were the same eyes I saw by the restroom.
Black…
Bottomless…
Inhuman.
I didn’t know what happened next when I felt a sharp pain in my chest, causing me to gasp and my knees to buckle. I felt my breath leaving me and my eyes rolling back. The last thing I remembered was V’s shocked expression, him stepping back and cursing before darkness swallowed me whole.
“Alex!” Lena suddenly yelled. “The solution! It’s spilling!!!”
Alex stopped and looked down in horror, seeing the liquid bubbling out of the flask like some kind of toxic waste. She hardly had time to react as it spilled over the back of her hand which was perched on the desk right beside it. She yelped as the liquid made contact with her skin, feeling a slight burn and an itch almost instantly.
“Oh my god–!” Before Lena could get to her, Alex felt a presence behind her and arms suddenly circled her body as strong hands gripped her wrists. Everything happened so fast and she didn’t have time to say anything when she was practically half-carried over to the sink.
She looked to her right and saw V opening the faucet, his face calm yet there was a seriousness in his expression as he gently placed her hands under the cold running water.
His fingers rubbed on the spot where the chemical had spilled gently and Alex winced, seeing a small red mark on her skin. The class was now looking over at the commotion, everyone stopping their experiments to watch. The running water ceased and V grabbed a towel to wipe her hands with.
“Are you okay?” He whispered and she looked up, meeting his eyes. He looked genuinely worried and Alex thought she just might melt under his gaze right there. When she didn’t answer, he huffed slightly.
“Meet me after class.” He said before leaving her to Lena and moving to the front of the room swiftly.
“You okay?!” Lena asked but Alex was unable to speak. “Did it hurt? Do we need to take you to the clinic?”
“I–”
“If you’re all done, please clean your stations and submit your papers before you leave.” V announced to the class and everyone resumed to their experiments.
“Just sit here and don’t do anything else. I’ll clean everything up.” Lena said and Alex smiled thankfully. It took about fifteen minutes for the class to wrap up and leave. Not that Alex was counting down the minutes…
“You coming?” Lena asked and Alex told her that the professor had asked her to stay afterwards.
“Oh… you’re in trouble~” She teased and Alex rolled her eyes, resisting the urge to throw something toxic at her. Lena just chuckled then took her bag and left, telling her that they should meet later for dinner.
Once she was gone, she went over to V who was inspecting a flask with a frown before putting it down and heading towards the cabinets. She bit her lip as she approached, embarrassed for causing a commotion in class a while ago and for being so careless during the experiment. She wasn’t usually like this.
Alex took a deep breath, preparing to say an apology. “Professor–”
“Sit.” He ordered as he turned and Alex saw that he had retrieved the first aid kit. Alex sat down on the nearest station as V approached. He stood in front of her then reached for her burned hand; the skin was red but it didn’t look too bad.
“Caused quite a scare back there.” He said as he inspected her hand. “What were you doing putting Sodium Hydroxide into the solution?”
“H—huh?”
V smirked, giving her a slightly amused stare as he rummaged through the first aid kit. “There were Sodium Hydroxide pellets diluted in your solution.” He told. “It’s a chemical made from salt… used in soap-making, usually. You’re lucky it didn’t burn your hand off.”
“What?!” Alex’s eyes widened, realizing the severity of what she had done.
“Kidding.” V chuckled slightly before retrieving a small silver canister. “But it could’ve been worse. Sodium Hydroxide, or Lye, is a caustic chemical. You should’ve been more careful, Alex.”
Alex flushed at his statement, unable to answer. She couldn’t really say that she got distracted talking about him which was why she had been careless. V opened up the canister and dipped his finger into it. It was some kind of ointment and as he applied it to her skin, Alex felt immediately relieved at the cold feeling of it.
“Better?” He smiled and Alex could only hold in a moan at how good his fingers felt as it rubbed circles on the back of her hand. She nodded, pressing her lips together instead.
A few seconds of silence passed and Alex wasn’t sure what to say next. It was a good thing, V was the first to break the ice.
“You’re oddly quiet.” He said, tilting his head to the side. “Are you alright?”
Alex just nodded and V smiled, “Okay no talking.” He chuckled. “You know, you don’t have to feel so bad. These stuff happen all the time. I swear I almost caught fire in one of my lab activities back in college. And I think I exposed myself to something toxic at least five times in a semester.”
Alex chuckled at his story, amazed at how easily he could make her smile. “That must’ve been fun.”
“Oh yeah.” He said as he let go of her hand (to her disappointment) to wipe his hand clean. “Highlight of my college years.”
The room went quiet once again and Alex could only stare at the beautiful human being in front of her, unsure why she felt her heart constrict; making it hard to breathe whenever he looked at her. Could it be that I’m…
“You better apply ointment on that at least twice a day for the rest of the week to keep it from marking. We wouldn’t want a scar on the pretty hand now, do we?” He said with a smile as he looked at her. But it faltered when their eyes locked.
Alex smiled softly then looked away as she remembered something, breaking their gazes.
“What?” V asked, seeing that she was smiling like they just shared an inside joke.
“Nothing.” She shook her head. “I just… I just remembered I did the same thing for you a few weeks back.” She pointed at his hand and V raised it to his face, seeing a faint mark on his knuckles from when he had punched Clark.
“Oh yeah…” He said thoughtfully.
“Guess this was a favor returned…?” She trailed and V looked at her, his gaze softening.
“I think… we’re way past the favors.” He said a matter of fact and somehow his words pinched at her little heart, sensing the meaning behind it. “Don’t you think?”
“Alex!” Lena suddenly yelled. “The solution! It’s spilling!!!”
