Hey, I'm not a member of this community, but I will be attending York U in the fall. I'm heterosexual, but I was interested in joining the TBL club at York just for the sake, I guess to show my support as I have several gay friends and a few family members.
Is TBL an actual CLUB or just something where gay/trans/bi/lesbian students are offered support? Would I be welcome to join?
Thanks!

2:41PM - karpinski?

Anyone had Karpinsky for wmst2510 9.0 (intro to womens studies)? I checked out rate my prof and everyone had horrible things to say about her. I don't really care if she's a good lecturer or not- but do you have to actually go to class to get by or are the essays and exams mostly from the readings? Is she really that bad? Should I drop now?
I need a 9 credit social science and I'm having trouble finding one that's remotely interesting or at least taught by a good prof.

Go balance the vote now!
...
Not that it really matters, we're talking about a bunch of familial extremists who will prolly skew the vote anyway.

This was posted in the yorku community, I thought I'd copy it here in case you're interested. Message sweetiebird if you're interested in more info.

V-day York 2004
Rape Free Zone is similar to Take Back the Night only it is on campus. Everyone will be given red tape or ribbon and walk around campus tying it wherever they want to symbolize that York is a rape free zone. There are many sexual assaults on this campus every year and we are hoping to end that. It is a way of empowering young women of the York community. I am organizing this event and I need your help! We need to make posters, banners, and basically get the word out! I need creative, enthusiastic and dependable people to help organize this great event. If you are still interested, let me know! I cant wait to hear from you. Ciao!!
