24th-Aug-2017 09:04 pm - Epilogue
*wilmos on the rock*
I can pretend I waited just over 10 years since I first started to be poetic but we'd all know that's not true.

Epilogue - You Bagged A Veela (download)

Song: "Don't Matter Now" by George Ezra

The deepest of thanks to KLB, as always, who was solely responsible for keeping this from complete abandonment. Anything that sounds good was filmed in her closet - editing was always a treat when I could hear myself opening the closet door and leaning out to ask her how to pronounce something.

My deepest apologies, and my thanks for your patience, support, and enjoyment. I hope you've all been leading happy, fulfilling, generous lives in the meantime.

My locked fandom twitter is @winekitteh & you're more than welcome to find me there - just leave a comment with your handle here so I know who you are.

much love, as always,

25th-Jun-2015 12:36 am - Chapter 14
*never let go*
Heyo!

I am the mighty, pathetic tortoise chugging along in this race! Just the epilogue to go :) The voices and accents won't all be consistent from one chapter to the next since it was such a long time in between recording different parts and I didn't listen to the other parts again before doing this one. (Frankly, I'm a little afraid to go back and listen to the previous chapters at this point.)

Chapter 14 - Centaurs and Mermaids and Veela Things (listen | download)
The song is 11:11 by The Arkells because I am once again insufferably Canadian

KLB gets all the ups for this chapter, since she locked me in her closet to record it, let me use her gear, and prompted/encouraged me with unending patience. And all of you have impeccable manners and already know this, but please don't contact the author (other than with unrelated messages of her loveliness) as the original story is now offline!

much love,
-c

*white lady*
Hey guys. *shameface* So I was all "hey I'm back! I'm doing stuff now! I'll have it finished soon!"

That was a year ago. HOWEVER.

Chapter 13 - It's Not About the Veela Thing (listen | download)
The song is Arcade Fire's Neighbourhood #3 (Power Out) because I am insufferably Canadian

All of the kudos in this chapter go to the insufferably lovely laliandra, who helped me when I suddenly forgot how to use Audacity again, and to brimtoast, who is the entire reason you guys are hearing this and not only because she locked me in her closet and made me record it. Feel free to share it, but don't contact the author (unless it's just with a random message about how awesome she is in general, as she deserves those kinds of things), as the story is now offline.

If you like podfic or (O Horror Of Horrors) like my voice doing things, my voice is doing things alongside podklb, if by "things" you mean "podfic of rainjoyswriting's fantastic 'All The Other Ghosts' Glee fic" (and I do) so you should check that out if you are so inclined!

I hope you've all been well. Chapter 14 is recorded, just not edited - if you've any song requests for Chapter 14 or the Epilogue, feel free to share them, since Lal's suggestion was "is there a song called Harry You Giant Loserface?" and to my knowledge there is not.
much love,
-c

13th-Oct-2012 12:14 am - Talk It Out
*Glee: pink glasses*
Hey guys! No more DDG just yet - the next chapter is almost edited, je vous promettez. In the meantime: any song requests for the interludes in DDG 13, 14, and epilogue?

But there is OTHER podfic! Myself, oohshinyfangirl, and podklb decided post-4x04 on Glee that we were having a lot of FEELINGS and so decided to do a compilation of fix-it fic and reaction meta, and "Talk It Out" was born! If you would like to join it (podficcing: not as scary as it sounds!) please feel free to drop us a line!

The pieces I have done so far are the following - streaming is available at the Talk It Out entry:

Title: so quite new a thing

All of these are on tumblr as well. Cheers! Hopefully more to come soon, I hope you are all very well.

Wow, it's been a long time, eh? Like, years. Hope they've been as good for you as they've been for me! But yes, long time.

Luckily, I have amazing friends that lock me in podficcing closets (no, not a metaphor - an actual closet) with microphones when I come to visit them, so you can all thank brimtoast for this (no, seriously, thank her).

I highly doubt anyone still reads or follows this page, but if they do: here is the long-awaited (har de har) Chapter 12 of Drop Dead Gorgeous, subsequent chapters hopefully to follow.

Chapter 12 - A Veela's Face (mediafire)
The song used is Kimbra's 'Good Intent'

I was going to get super-apologetic because really 4 years is a ridiculously long time to abandon a project, but hey! I have spent those 4 years doing a wide variety of other excellent things, although doing this has made me remember how much fun it is. So I won't do that. However, I do apologise for the fact that a lot of the voices may not be as you remember them - I'm older, my voice is different, and I didn't have much of a chance to re-listen to how I used to do the voices before I was stuffed into the aforementioned closet, so I apologise for any discrepancies, and there will be discrepancies. Also, obviously French Canadian accents come more easily to me, so I apologise for giving Louison that particular lilt (which he does slip in and out of, and which is stronger on certain phrases than others, which is common and was done on purpose). Feel free to leave feedback here or chat with me on twitter.

Happy listening! Feel free to pass it along to people who used to listen to it, but please don't contact the author about it - the original story is now offline, and as she was lovely enough to write such a wonderful thing to give to us in the first place, let's all play by her rules :)

much, much love,
-c
16th-Sep-2008 10:14 am - Permanent Link Post
*sketch*
Most of the sendspace links have gone defunct by this time (except for DDG11, which I am absolutely ecstatic to see over 80 people downloaded just from sendspace - I love you all to absolute pieces), so here's one post with all of the links in one spot (to the permanent files on Jinjurly's Audiofic site). I have gone over all the old entries and updated the links there, so you can use these ones or just read the original entries. I would put this in the profile but I am not that accomplished at HTML and I'm semi-late for a class(!).
**All titles listed here are the ones I have given them, not "actual" titles.

FUN QUESTION/POLL: What's your fav title? Mine is either "Veela Seduction Death Match" (DD6) or "Bartending in the Dark." (WWGB1) All props goes to Sarah for writing hilariously in the first place :)

3rd-Sep-2008 11:11 am - Not an Update
*thread*
Hello all. I hope you had a magnificent summer and are at least somewhat-enjoying school or work or boot camp or whatever it is you're all doing :)

As for what I'M doing. Well. I wanted to make an update here just to keep you all in the loop - the loop BEING that there won't be any more audiofic/podfic for a while. I'm at university now (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and enjoying it muchly, but not only do I so far not have any time, but the walls are thin in my residence and I'm not entirely sure that me shrieking loudly about whatever it is Draco's obsessing about this week or trying 12 times to perfect Goyle saying "Uhhh..." would be appreciated and/or tolerated.

I don't want to make any committments or promises I won't be able to keep, but I do have 4-month summers, and perhaps there will be tonnes more in the future, even as Sarah's fic deadline approaches (however: lots more shoebox!), so don't de-friend the community if you're still interested, because I'm not disappearing from LJ anytime soon.

Sorry for the cutting off, but it was a wonderful run while it lasted and I enjoyed every minute of it; all of Shoebox and DDG is up permanently (http://jinjurly.com/audio/tag/readermcollinknight/), so you can always find it. If anything else goes down, let me know and I'll reupload it (now that I have fast internets!). Thanks everyone for listening, for reading, and for commenting. LOVELOVELOVE,

*city*
It gives me a kind of perverse satisfaction to have finally caught up to mistful in terms of Drop Dead Gorgeous. I really wanted to have this part finished for today, since in a matter of hours I shall depart for il belpaese for two weeks, so there will be no reading or, frankly, anything other than the consumption of rumpunch and the oogling of frescoes for quite some time. After that, I return to my task of finishing my audiobook, which I'm ashamed to say I haven't put one lick of work towards since the beginning of the summer.

In other words: there might be more by the end of summer. There might not be. I shall let you know, since I already have one part of Coda recorded, and SBP has been long-neglected. However, without further ado (Good Lord, I talk a lot, don't I?), Part Eleven:

PART A - Playing Time: 21 mins, 33 seconds
PART B - Playing Time: 36 mins, 16 seconds
Download HERE @ the Jinjurly AudioHost

The quality is worse on this one, because my good mic is not working :( I'm not terribly impressed with my reading here, I need to slow down, but at least it's comprehensible. Now, marriamagdalenawas kind enough to suggest a song for this part that I could, for the life of me, not find either on iTunes or my father's extensive Beatles collection on anything other than vinyl, so I apologise for that, and the song for this part is Ryan Star's 'Last Train Home.' Now, a word about the songs: I'm aware that they all sound similar, and I know that the lyrics for this part might not mesh exactly, but what I'm trying to do here is create sort of a DDG mood, which apprently sounds like James Blunt (who knew?) but whatever. Please - please! - let me know if you're not enjoying the music, if you've got suggestions for music choice (though keep in mind that if I don't already have it I'll have to buy it, and I am a starving student here), you really like the music, you'd rather I just stop talking, anything.
I'll stop talking.
This part is dedicated to sumasai09 - have a magnificent summer, dahhhhhhlings!

*spades*

Hey there. I know it's been a while. You must forgive me. I could jibber and jabber and flail and grovel and spew excuses to you, but that would be quite boring and would, frankly, take a long time. So I suppose I'll just have to say I'm sorry, I've been busy, there have been technological problems and health problems and whatever else. However, now I find myself 18 years old, finished high school (forever!!), without a care in the world (OK, that's a lie), and so in the past three days I have been feverish with audiobooking (new verb!), and I have for you some Drop Dead Gorgeous, Part 10.

PART A - Playing Time: 30 mins, 48 seconds
PART B - Playing Time: 28 mins, 37 seconds
The File

The song is 'Seed' by The Academy Is..., and I hope you all don't have too many problems with sendspace. Apologies to all once again, with special thanks and dedications to

marriamagdalena, to ladyjaida and danibennett (for writing Havemercy - go, read it!), and to all of you who've been commenting and listening and waiting since basically freaking forever for me to get my arse into gear. Love you all!

3rd-May-2008 10:47 am - Surprise! Not an update.
*schedule*
I am so, so sorry. I swear to God. I haven't forgotten. And I promise as soon as a) I finish my Economics ISU essay, b) my French exchange student leaves, c) the last issue of my newspaper is ready to go, and d) my Hey-Let's-Build-A-School-In-Kenya-It's-Not-Like-We-Aren't-Already-Busy-Enough fundraiser is over (aka early June for all of this), I will have more podfic. I PROMISE.

I've actually recorded several things, spending many hours on them, only to later discover my mic was plugged into the headphone jack, and so-forth. Really, it's been painful. But I've got Part 1 of Coda to an Epilogue on my computer, ready for copious editing, and the next DDG is on there as well. Unfortunately my audiobook of Montana 1948 takes precedence, but I will be here again. I have not forsaken the podfic. Please forgive me. I hope your lives are all going splendidly.
