Confession Executive Committee Wiki

The Love Series (恋愛シリーズ, ren'ai series) of Confession Executive Committee is the oldest of the two currently running song series, and was considered the main body of the franchise until the 2019 split. Beginning in 2011 but not fully realized until 2013, this series contains over 50 mainline songs.

Synopsis[]

The series primarily focuses on love within three main groups who attend or have attended Sakuragaoka High School:
The first and oldest group, often referred to as Class 3-2, consists of a group of 9 friends. The series follows this group throughout their school lives, focusing on themes such as building the courage to confess, learning the meaning of love, and dealing with unrequited love. Later media focuses on their lives after they have graduated high school.
The second group, originally referred to as Class 1-1, focuses on a group that includes the original cast's younger siblings and their friends. As the characters are younger, their stories explores themes such as developing crushes and learning about their feelings. The series continues to follow them into their second year and beyond.
The third group, originally referred to as Class 1-4, started with a group of freshmen that arrive during the second group's second year of high school. Their content is somewhat less romantically charged, and has a strong focus on individual character development. This group's story often overlaps with the Idol Series.
The cast of this series would go on to get married and have children. While the children would get minor focus in stories set in the Love Series, they would go on to receive proper attention away from their parents in the New Series, where they are teenagers attending high school.
Besides romantic love, the Love Series also explores other forms of love, such as familial and platonic. This aspect of the series has existed since at least "Terekakushi Shishunki", but became more prominent with the introduction of more sibling characters, such as Mona Narumi or Aizo Shibasaki.

Trivia[]

  • Although most -another story- type songs have been written for the Love Series, there have been a few that are unaffiliated, such as "Kokuhaku Shitemo Ii Desu ka -another story-" from Parallel School Days. Its exclusion from the Love Series line is confusing, considering its base song's inclusion in 2020.
    • Related, but the original "Suiyoubi no Yakusoku" was not included in the Love Series listing (Late November 2020), making this the second paired song to receive this treatment.
  • Only a handful of characters do not have solo songs outside of the main/"-another story-" line. These characters are Midori Hamanaka and Sota Mochizuki.
  • Similar to the -another story- songs, the characters Hiyori Suzumi and Nagisa Shiranami have a song with the same melody and themes. However, as Nagisa had a late development, their songs are not actually the same as the -another story- songs.
