So, I'm baking. Again. What else is new...

The cupcakes are fine, whatever...I did the best I could do with them. The colors I bought weren't EXACTLY what I had in mind (my mud brown? It was more of a pink. Oh boy), so I had to work around that, but overall, I'm fairly proud of it.

HOWEVER: My picture frame that I used to hold them on...is way too big. Ergo, my cupcakes are sliding all over the place and this is an issue.

So, I'm baking cookies to make as a border. A problem though...not sure I have enough cookies.

God help me...I'm going insane over here...

Oh well. It'll all be over in a few hours...

Umm...but...yeah...I think that's all I have to say...

OH!! NEXT WEDNESDAY! I'M SEEING HAIR ON BROADWAY!! I tried to find a video of the awesome commercial, but I can't find one...grr...

I'm so excited...I've never seen a production of Hair but I've always LOVED the music, so I'm pumped...plus, the last show I've seen was Little Mermaid which, don't get me wrong, it was awesome...but it was MONTHS ago.

*sigh* I miss the days when I would go to the city once a month to rush a show at the crack of dawn to get decent seats for 25 bucks...good times...

So, the other day I saw the pilot for the show Glee...and it's AMAZING. I'm so pissed, because I have to wait until Fall to see the rest, but...it'll be worth it.



Matthew Morrison is GOD. He's the one singing Gold Digger? I'm in love with that man...

He was the original Fabrizio in Light in the Piazza and he was recently in South Pacific too, but I wasn't able to see EITHER show. Hopefully he'll be back on Broadway in the future and I'll see him...maybe get to meet him? *eeeek*

Anyway, just thought I'd share the hillariousness that is Matthew Morrison singing Kanye West.

So...I have a massive project ahead of me and it's due on Friday...


So...it's my friend Viv's birthday on Friday. And somehow, ALL of us forgot until Monday. So, I bought her Hercules on DVD (because it's AWESOME and she doesn't own it and she loves it), but she ONLY agreed to a party if I made her cupcakes.

No pressure.

I want to do something really special for her because Viv and I aren't as close as we should be but I want her to know that I care about her SO much. So, being the truly insane person that I am, I am going to attempt to make these:



She is an amazing artist and I found these and knew I had to give it a try.

Wish me luck. I'll need it. I never thought I'd make something harder than the infamous Bacon Cheeseburger cake, but here goes nothing.

STATUS OF THE MIXTAPE PROJECT: All the CDs have been made. I just need to put the packages together and mail them out. Each CD has a different theme, and I'm pretty proud of how they turned out!

SO apparently I'm seeing David Cook twice this summer? No complaints...

One of the best friends, Grace, wants to see him too, so we booked a hotel in Delaware and we're going to see him at some sort of...state fair? Go figure, but it's David Cook and we're in Section A (one of the first sections), in row 11.

Not...bad...at all. Especially since we paid 35 bucks each for the tickets and 45 each for the hotel. NICE.

I wasn't going to post again today (well...technically it's a different day, but whatever), but a friend on facebook posted this and I almost peed my pants...

Just thought I'd share this magicness, though it SEVERELY depresses me that she's considering never coming back to America and just staying in London. WHY?!

Anyway, you know the drill:

So my dad went to Staten Island again yesterday to finish cleaning out my grandmother's apartment. I think...they might even have MORE to do, but who knows.

Anyway, we've had a lot of issues with what to do with a good majority of her stuff. Her furniture, her pans, her television, her stereo, everything. I asked around, no one wanted it.

Turns out...a woman started looking at the apartment and is going to buy it. This is the most incredible thing I've ever heard. She's moving in with nothing but the clothes on her back. She's leaving her husband because for years, he's been abusing her. So she's finally moving out but won't have anything at all.

LIGHTBULB.

My family's giving her everything. And by giving, I mean just that. Giving it to her. The furniture, the pans, the television, the stereo, everything that we're leaving behind. We've taken the sentimental items, like pictures and mementos and all that...and we have no use for anything else...so what else could we possibly do with it but give it to this poor woman?

I feel really good about it. She deserves a better life and I hope that she'll find that life in my grandmother's apartment :)

Just thought I'd share that awesome story.

WHAT THE MIXTAPE PROJECT ENTAILS (in case it wasn't clear before):

-It is basically a penpal project. Only, instead of a letter exchange, it is more a music exchange. I will send you a mixtape(CD) and in return, you send me one as well. These mixtapes can be WHATEVER you want them to be. That's the fun part. They can have themes (Summer mix, rainy day mix, sleep mix), they can pertain to fiction (Romeo and Juliet mix), or they can simply be songs that describe you. My promise to you is that I will try as hard as I can to not send the same mix to everyone. Whoever responds will get a unique mix.

I'll also be sending things like tea, letters, pictures, maybe even little gifts.

So again, if you're interested in participating, contact me somehow and we can get started.

Why twenty4mixtapes?

-24's my favorite number
-Twenty Four (or 24) is my favorite song by Switchfoot, aka, my favorite band.
-The 24th of every month is another milestone for getting over my SI addiction. February 24th is the actual day.
-Aaaand because I love mixtapes. Always have, always will. My perfect, perfect birthday present would be a mixtape of songs that mean something to me and the person who gives me the gift.

So friend me!! Like I said, I'm not friending anyone just because...that's a lot of people to friend. If, after a week, you don't friend me there...well...*sad sigh* I'll understand. But just know that I'll be posting all entries at my new name.
