Disclaimer: This Tonia Barrows is no longer played in the Star Trek fandom. Even though there is a character in that fandom by the same name, this character's history and personality was created by me. She is in no way affiliated with Star Trek. And I am not Sarah Wayne Callies or Ellen Page.

Tonia Barrows was born in Houston, Texas on April 20th. She is the youngest child of Richard and Myka Barrows and younger sister to RJ and Thomas. Tonia looked up to her two older brothers, even though they often teased and taunted her. While her mother tried to get them to stop, her father saw it as "good training" for her later life.

Not wanting her daughter to grow up as a tomboy, Myka encouraged Tonia to take ballet and piano lessons. Tonia was horrible at ballet, especially since she seemed a little too clumsy for it. However, she seemed to excel at piano, which made her mother quite happy.

When Tonia was twelve, her grandmother grew ill and the family left their home in Houston and moved to her grandmother's ranch in Wyoming. Having to leave her friends behind was hard on Tonia, and she often acted out. Not wanting to deal with her behavior, Tonia's parents sent her to a boarding school in New York state.

Being away from home didn't change her, though. Tonia taught herself how to hack into computer networks, which got the attention of the United States government. They decided not to press charges if Tonia agreed to help them when she got older.

After high school graduation, Tonia went to the University of Massachusetts, where she studied computer security. Upon graduation, she got a job with the FBI, where she still works.
