Sorry we've been on a bit of a hiatus recently. This summer has been a pretty busy one!

This is a potpourri post where you can talk about how y'all have been doing, what have you been up to, any big summer plans? New babies? Vacations? Have you cooked anything amazing recently? Talk, post photos, anything!

Where do you find your recipes? Do you have a great recipe site that you frequent? Any Livejournal communities related to food that you can't live without? Or are you strictly a cookbook gal?

Can you tell I'm looking for some new recipes? ;)

Also, today is the first day of the book club discussion! Don't forget to pop in over there if you're involved.

Would anyone be interested in doing a swap? It would be a great way to get to know each other better and I know I love swaps! Since it would be our first swap, it could be small; like a sweets/candy/snacky swap. How does that sound?

Also, I was wondering if some of you/lots of you would be interested in doing a journal/mail project? We could start out with one or two journals then write, paint, draw, collage or WHATEVER in them and mail them onto someone else who would write/paint/whatever in it and mail it to the next person and so on until it came back to the person who began the journal. Then, the journal could be scanned in and uploaded so everyone could see the outcome! It would be a long-term sort of thing, a person would have it for a week or so and then pass it on. So here's another poll for you!

Happy 4th everyone! To celebrate the holiday, I'd like to know what everyone's planning for today? BBQs? Fireworks? Post up your pictures and let us know about the fun you had!

I've been listening to Little House in the Big Woods on CD today with my daughter, and it got me to thinking about family traditions. How important are they in your family?

What traditions have you carried on (if any) from your family? Are they only reserved for holidays? Was your childhood lacking in tradition, and now you want to create that for your own family? What are some memories you have from your own childhood?

As the circumcision post went off smoothly, I'd like to bring up another touchy subject for some: vaccinations.

What are your feelings on this? Do you vaccinate your kid(s)? What have you experienced if you have avoided or selectively delayed vaccinations? Did you vaccinate one child and not the other(s)?

How has being a parent changed you? And not just less sleep, and no free time ;) Have you become stronger in ways you weren't before? Do you see life differently? Have strong beliefs you held in the past completely changed?
