Merivale High School LJ Community for Students, Alumni, and Others

An LJ Community for students, alumni, admirers and any others with some interest in Merivale High School in Nepean, Ontario, Canada. All who are students, alumni, admirers, or interested others are welcome to join. Feel free to publicise school events or events appropriate for high school students to attend and to share your thoughts on Merivale-related issues.

Please remember that this is a community and that you must respect other people's differences of opinion. And also, please don't post entries not relevant to Merivale in a community setting. That, friends, is what your private journals are for. And respect LJ-etiquette: please lj-cut your entries when they are long or contain many or big pictures, don't overuse large font sizes, don't use hard to read colours. Anyone contributing to friendspage clutter or making offtopic posts will be warned once, and the offending post may be deleted.

This community was started on November 30, 2004, and is moderated by pakaboori.

The layout for this journal is the basic Generator style customised with MHS school colours, which are maroon, gold, black, white, and baby blue. Layout designs by creative people are welcome, especially if they include school colours and the MHS mascot, the marauder. Sumbit layout designs and other ideas by commenting on this post, or by e-mail to the moderator (jeanniegirl488  @  hotmail.com, remove the spaces).

To post in this community, you must first join it. Then go to Journal>Update from the top links menu. Scroll to the bottom and choose "merivale" from the post to menu. Type your entry, hit update.

To lj-cut an entry, type [lj-cut text="a few quick words to describe this entry"], then type your entry, then type[/lj-cut], with angle bracket instead of square.

To control the size of an image, insert modifiers in the img tag: [img src="http://yourimage.ext" width="###" size= "###"], with angle brackets instead of square. If your image is greater than 200x200, you are advised to LJ cut or make it smaller, or just not post it. If you do post it, your post may be deleted. Please do not post images that you do not have permission to -- do not post unless you know whoever took it won't mind, do not post unless you know whoever is in it won't mind. Do not direct-link images, find your own image host.

When posting, please respect common sense and LJ etiquette. Do not post offensive content. Do not be rude in either what you say or how you say it. Use LJ-cuts for long posts and images, use normal font size in your post.
