cinnaminty
Here are some Yugo jokes. I like 'em! ;)

A. Fill the Tank

A. Miracle

Q. How do you make a Yugo accelerate from zero to 60 mph in less than 15 seconds?
A. Push it off a cliff.

Q. What is found on the last two pages of every Yugo owner's manual?
A. The bus schedule.

Q. What did the parts dealer say when the customer said, "I'll take a set of wiper blades for my Yugo"?
A. "Sounds like a fair trade to me."

Q. Why do Yugos come with heated rear windows?
A. To keep your hands warm while you're pushing them

Q. What do you call a Yugo with brakes?
A. Customized.

Q. How do you make a Yugo go faster downhill?
A. Turn off the engine.

Q. What do you call Yugo passengers?
A. Shock absorbers

Q. How do you improve the appearance of a Yugo?
A. Park it between two 914s.

Q. Why do Yugo owners never carry a map?
A. It'll never get far enough to get lost!

Q. What's the difference between a Yugo and the principal's office?
A. It's less embarrassing if your friends see you leaving the principal's office.

Q: What is the sport-version of Yugo?
A: The driver wears Nike shoes.

Q: What do you call a Yugo with twin exhausts?
A: A wheelbarrow

Q: What is the Yugo owner's most ardent wish?
A: To buy a car.

Q: What do you have to do if your Yugo gets in the way of a swarm of killer bees?
A: Stop pushing and take refuge into the car.

Q: What do you call a Yugo with a seat belt?
A: A rucksack

Why were sidewalks invented?
So Yugo owners would have a safe place to walk home.!

Q: How do you make a Yugo go faster uphill?
A: Throw out the passenger.

I'm not sure if this community is active or not anymore, but I guess I may as well try.

I am currently trying to teach myself Croatian. I constructed a very simple message and am curious as to how correct it is. Please correct me:

Dobra večer, kako ste?

Ja sam Rob. Tko ste vi? Gavorite li hrvatski? Učim hrvatski. Gavorim malo.

Hvala!

Where to go on the Adriatic [23 Sep 2007|10:44am]

cinnaminty
Bok!

I'm thinking of taking a honeymoon on the Northern Adriatic. We're looking at Porec, Brijuni... or even Maya's favourite, Rabac! It would be cool to go to Trieste as well. I've never been to Istra or anywhere in the northern Adriatic, so give me some suggestions as to where we should go. It would be ideal to go somewhere with nice beaches and fun things to do at night but in a city that's not totally crazy.

Hvala!

Zdravo! Zovem se Aimee, i ja sam iz Amerike, ali u ono doba učim i živim u Rusiji. Ovde vreme je hladno... :(
Hoću naučiti hrvatski jezik (stoga što on prekrasan) i putovati tamo, ležati u plaže pod suncem....

anyway.. that was my first-ever attempt at Croatian. Correct mistakes please? :)
I have been learning since... today... so there are bound to be lots of errors.

Thank you!

So I took my Canadian friend to Croatian mass on Sunday. She enjoyed it. She also commented that none of the Croatians there are overweight. This is good. I thought I would share this commentary with you guys.

Bok! So my office manager is having a potluck dinner party at her house. The theme is multiculturalism. So what Croatian dish/dessert should I bring over? I was thinking burek, but that's something that needs to be warm. It's not as tasty when cold.

My parents just came back from Croatia. My dad told me that while in Zagreb at the trznica he met Ćiro Blažević. They shook hands and exchanged some small talk. Ćiro was quite friendly. He then went on his way carrying two suit cases and wearing a white Summer outfit. I thought this was cool.

I´m looking for people who´d like to let me read their Croatian journals. Since I moved out I don´t have anybody who I can talk to in Croatian regularly, and I don´t want to forget everything! ..it´s already started..
me: half-croatian, living in Germany, female, 26
you: willing to let me read :) I comment fairly often if I think I have to say something (which is usually the case, haha)
Please, anybody?

So.... who's following it!? The time difference is absolutely killing me and if I wanted to watch them all I'd have to stay up to all hours of the morning. I'm looking forward to the 23rd of June though - Croatia vs Australia (which is where I live). I have to be at the airport at 3am to catch a flight to London that morning and the game will be shown here at 3am, lol. Guess what I'll be doing at the airport before I board the plane?! :)
