I'm not sure if this community is active or not anymore, but I guess I may as well try.
I am currently trying to teach myself Croatian. I constructed a very simple message and am curious as to how correct it is. Please correct me:

| Where to go on the Adriatic |
[23 Sep 2007|10:44am] |
Bok!
I'm thinking of taking a honeymoon on the Northern Adriatic. We're looking at Porec, Brijuni... or even Maya's favourite, Rabac! It would be cool to go to Trieste as well. I've never been to Istra or anywhere in the northern Adriatic, so give me some suggestions as to where we should go. It would be ideal to go somewhere with nice beaches and fun things to do at night but in a city that's not totally crazy.
Hvala!

Zdravo! Zovem se Aimee, i ja sam iz Amerike, ali u ono doba učim i živim u Rusiji. Ovde vreme je hladno... :( Hoću naučiti hrvatski jezik (stoga što on prekrasan) i putovati tamo, ležati u plaže pod suncem....
anyway.. that was my first-ever attempt at Croatian. Correct mistakes please? :) I have been learning since... today... so there are bound to be lots of errors.
Thank you!

So I took my Canadian friend to Croatian mass on Sunday. She enjoyed it. She also commented that none of the Croatians there are overweight. This is good. I thought I would share this commentary with you guys.

Bok! So my office manager is having a potluck dinner party at her house. The theme is multiculturalism. So what Croatian dish/dessert should I bring over? I was thinking burek, but that's something that needs to be warm. It's not as tasty when cold.

My parents just came back from Croatia. My dad told me that while in Zagreb at the trznica he met Ćiro Blažević. They shook hands and exchanged some small talk. Ćiro was quite friendly. He then went on his way carrying two suit cases and wearing a white Summer outfit. I thought this was cool.

So.... who's following it!? The time difference is absolutely killing me and if I wanted to watch them all I'd have to stay up to all hours of the morning. I'm looking forward to the 23rd of June though - Croatia vs Australia (which is where I live). I have to be at the airport at 3am to catch a flight to London that morning and the game will be shown here at 3am, lol. Guess what I'll be doing at the airport before I board the plane?! :)
