America a Christian nation?

I don't know about that, but I do know this. It is my nation. And regardless of the faith of the people, I will gladly give my life for their safety. If you live in my nation, whether you're Protestant, Catholic, Wiccan, Druish, Muslim, Jewish, Atheist, Agnostic, 7th day Spaghettish, straight, bisexual, gay, black, white, Indian, Asian, or any combination thereof, I will fight and die for your freedom to be whoever the fuck you want to be.

But do not cross me, or any of my Comrades in Arms.

You will regret it.

Beltane Breakdown

Wow, what a weekend that was. Unfortunately, I was unable to take pictures, since the policy required the consent of everyone involved, and most of the rituals of which I took part involved over 100 Pagans, but it was well worth it.

The opening ceremony was impressive. Two fire dancers (one of which I've known for a while) performed, before handing off the torches to those who were calling the corners. The rite began, the sacred fire was lit, and drumming and dancing began. Good times had by all.

The Maypole was set up the following day, and everyone attached their ribbons and danced, and had a wonderful time. I didn't partake, however, since I lack the energy to do so, having spent a great deal the night prior.

Sunday was more of a breakdown day for everyone, as there were a lot of people making long trips. I helped out where I could, said my goodbyes, and made sure to get contact info for people.

I am glad I was talked into going. After the heartbreak I've had, it was just what I needed. Having the company of a beautiful woman (and her FANTASTIC breasts) helped me gain the confidence I've lacked for a long time.

The only problem I had with the whole event was the fact that it was ridiculously cold at night, prohibiting my wiry, 130 pound frame from staying there overnight. Thankfully, I was only 10 miles away from my home.

Settlement In Americans United Lawsuit Comes After Discovery Of A Pattern Of Bias Against Minority Faith

The Bush administration has conceded that Wiccans are entitled to have the pentacle, the symbol of their faith, inscribed on government-issued memorial markers for deceased veterans, Americans United for Separation of Church and State announced today.

The settlement agreement, filed today with the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin, brings to a successful conclusion a lawsuit Americans United brought against the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in November.

The litigation charged that denying a pentacle to deceased Wiccan service personnel, while granting religious symbols to those of other traditions, violated the U.S. Constitution.

Taken from one of my Yahoo! Groups.

The article describes an Army Chaplain who was released from duty because he switched form Pentecostal Christianity to Wicca. The man of interest reminds me of one chaplain I had met in Tech School, who had actually led me to Wicca initially.

Soldiers' widows sue for pagan symbols on headstones

I think the reason the military refuses to allow this is that, despite acknowledging Wicca as a religion, doing so would disturb old ladies visiting their husband's grave, shaking their idea of the military member being, "An-outspoken-yet-still-incredibly-Christian" person.

Wow this place is pretty lifeless isn't it? I googled quite a bit but I thought I'd ask the panel. I'm looking for information that may be helpful to a friend of mine, as I've given him as much assistance as I think I can. I suggested he keep a dream journal of course.

What are some of your best tips for remembering dreams?

just out of curiosity, can anyone point me at some good source material for studying the warrior aspects of Deity?primarily, things that deal specifically with going forth into battle, and preparing oneself spiritually and mentally for the challenges of battle?
you know, war god worship...

I have a question, I have a friend that is the founder of another Wiccan group that was in a terrible car accident and will be in the hospital for quite a while longer, my question is what can I send to her, besides money, that might help her feel better and speed up healing.

Blessings, light and positive energy.

Hi everyone I am new here, I am not in the military but I am an Army brat and live near Goodfellow Air force Base. I am 20, female, single, and looking. I am looking for a military man but am having an incredibly hard time here, there are not many Wiccans or Pagans here- they all hide pretty well. Basically I have lots of questions and no one to talk to about things.

I am new here so I figured I would say hello to everyone and let you know a few things about myself. I am a pagan of about 5 years who currently serves in the Marine Corps. I am 21 and always seeking self improvement in both body and knowledge. Although i follow a darker path I am still a pretty nice person most of the time and am willing to help anyone out when needed.

Hey all... I am new to the community. Many of my friends are both pagan and in or associated with the military. I also have some experience with both paganism and the military community and thought I'd join and keep an eye out here, since the information would be both relevant to me and friends of mine.

All in all, I've noticed the military is fairly tolerant of paganism of all varieties. When I was in the Air Force, I even attended a weekly pagan study group while in basic training at Lackland. I find it surprising that the Army hasn't made this step yet, as friends of mine who went through basic in even the last 18 months tell me they were sort of lumped in with the Buddhists while in basic.

Also, not sure of everyone's location, but if you'd like to check out my community, euro_americans please feel free. :)

~Kelly

ps ~ sorry for the blatant community plug, I'll delete it if it's inappropriate, but I also plan to advertise this in my personal journal, if that's fair enough! :)

Hi Everyone!
I'm new to this community and somewhat new to the craft...my husband is the one who I guess introduced me to the craft...but I was searching long before that for something more.

My hubby and I are moving to VA where we home to make good friends and find a good family-oriented wiccan community...we are expecting a little one soon and I would like to find a community that does wiccanings.
