Once and future medievalist, former expat now back in my home province, no-longer-rookie curler, aspiring cool aunt, and, after a PhD and a postdoc and a sharp turn into the unexpected, tree grower on Vancouver Island.

I started out on livejournal, but dreamwidth has been my online home since late 2011, and I read here every day even if I don't post. When I do post, it's mostly about the day-to-day details of my life, knitting, and work growing tree seedlings. I sometimes post fannish things, mostly related to my current fandom, which for the past year or so has meant the Silmarillion.

In the past I've participated on various levels in a long list of fandoms: The Thick of It, Louise Penny's Inspector Gamache mysteries, Jean-François Parot's Nicolas Le Floch mysteries, Madam Secretary, Hamilton, Sherlock, Hockey RPF, Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, and the typical early-2000s gateway fandoms of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. My fannish feelings for almost all of them occasionally flare up, and I'm always happy to read fannish content! I'm also a hockey fan from long before I was in fandom. I was raised a Vancouver Canucks fan - don't talk to me about the Rangers Bruins Flames Oilers Kraken!
