FAQs
LVHA Emails
Q: I'm not getting emails from LVHA. What can I do?
A: If you are having trouble receiving mail from your organization, a firewall or spam filtering service is likely the cause of the issue. However, you can add several domains and IP addresses to your local Allow List ensure safe delivery. Depending on your e-mail service, you may be able to do this yourself, or you may need the assistance of your IT administrator. We recommend including the following:
- 166.78.71.148
- 159.135.230.118
- 159.135.230.230
- 159.135.230.228
- 159.135.230.229
- 159.135.230.23
- starchapteremailhost2.com 67.43.2.30
- hostemail1.starchapterhost.com 209.59.162.85
- hostmailbox1.starchapterhost.com 67.43.7.204
- starchaptermail.com 69.60.117.130
Messages from the organization will usually have the same reply-to email address on them (visible if you start to reply to the message). Adding this address to your address book or contact list can also help ensure delivery. Adding webmail@ (the domain name) to the address book or contact list can also help. These changes can be helpful if e-mails are being reported as bounced, too.
Membership
Q: I submitted my membership application, but I can't register for events as a member. What do I do?
A: Membership is not automatic and goes through a board review and approval process. Once your application is approved, you will receive an email confirmation. This email will give you additional information about your membership and provide you with a link to login to your member profile.
Q: How long is my membership, and when does it start and end?
A: Membership is an annual calendar year from January through December and is not based upon when you apply. All memberships expire each year on December 31 and you have a 60 day grace period to renew. However once your membership has expired, you will not be able to register for events until you renew. If you do not renew before the grace period ends, you will no longer be able to login. If you decide you want to renew after the grace period ends, please contact [email protected].
Q: What type of membership does LVHA offer?
A: LVHA offers company-based memberships, meaning the company itself is the member, regardless of how the membership payment is made. This allows multiple representatives from the same company to participate and take advantage of LVHA benefits. Individual employees are not considered separate members under this structure. It is a business membership with individual members who may apply as an individual member representing your business.
Q: What is the policy for membership when an employee leaves a company?
A: If an employee leaves a company, they retain their LVHA membership status for 90 days as a courtesy. This grace period allows them continued access to LVHA benefits and events while they transition. After the 90 days, the membership is officially "retired," and no longer active under that individual. However, the company may continue the membership with other representatives until it expires.
Membership Fees
Q: Can my company pay for multiple memberships at once?
A: Yes, you can pay for multiple memberships at once. Please contact the Vice President-Membership at [email protected].
Q: Are there discounts for multiple members from the same company?
A: There are no discounts for multiple members from the same company. We keep membership rates low to accommodate businesses with multiple active members.
Q: Is there a pro-rated membership fee?
A: Membership is an annual calendar year from January through December and is not based upon when you apply. All memberships expire each year on December 31.
Event Registration
Q: Can I register for an event and pay by check?
A: Yes, you can pay by check. Please contact the Vice President-Membership at [email protected].
Q: How many times can I attend as a guest?
A: You may attend LVHA events as a guest TWO times before being required to sign up for membership per our by-laws. The event rates for non-members is higher per event than for members. Subsequently, if you have employees who anticipate attending more than two events this year, our recommendation is to sign them up as an additional member and you will save the extra fees for the difference in guest versus member event rates prior to joining as a member.
Q: If I cannot attend a meeting which I’ve already registered for, can I transfer my registration to a non-member employee of my company?
A: Attending meetings at the monthly event membership rate is only for the member and is not exchangeable however another employee within the business can attend a monthly event as a guest at the guest rate.
