Ninja Gaiden is an action video game series developed by Tecmo, and later by Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja.
The Ninja Gaiden series are set in modern times and follow Ryu Hayabusa as he embarks on different journeys to defeat various evils.
The classic Ninja Gaiden series are action platformer games set in a retrofuturistic version of the 1980s. The series was revived in 2004 with a new Ninja Gaiden, which changed the formula to a third-person action and was the start of the modern Ninja Gaiden series and follow Ryu Hayabusa setting out on a quest to retrieve the Dark Dragon Blade from the hands of evil after most of his clan was wiped out.
An Ancient Enemy Returns
An endless rain of miasma hangs over a near-future Tokyo in the wake of an ancient enemy's resurrection. The fate of the city lies in the hands of young ninja prodigy, Yakumo. Fighting his way through cybernetic ninja soldiers and otherworldly creatures, Yakumo must reconcile a destiny he shares with the legendary Ryu Hayabusa himself and free Tokyo from the ancient curse that brought the city to its knees.
