There have been few reports of US and Israeli strikes outside Tehran on Sunday, although the Israeli military said it had destroyed two fighter aircraft in the north-western city of Tabriz. Also, US President Donald Trump said US forces had sunk nine Iranian naval ships and "largely destroyed" their naval headquarters.

Other verified footage from Bahrain shows dark plumes of smoke rising as sirens sound across the city. The interior ministry said the airport was damaged after being targeted by a drone. There were unconfirmed reports of continuing attacks on Sunday morning.

On Sunday evening a drone strike on the US naval base, which caused a major fire, one official told the BBC - but there were no reports of casualties.

Meanwhile, Oman's state news agency reported on Sunday Duqm commercial port was targeted by two drones, injuring one worker. Oman has been a key mediator in the US-Iran talks for years and had so far been spared Iranian attacks.
