PETA has written an open letter to Nintendo president Shunatro Furukawa. The reason?

マリオカート ワールドで大ブレイクした牛の鼻輪が気に入らないからです。
Well, they aren’t happy with Mario Kart World‘s breakout star Cow’s nose ring.

PETAによると、牛の鼻輪は食肉業界や乳製品業界によって「動物を搾取し、支配し、さらには死に追いやるために」使われているとのことです。
The organisation says that cow nose rings are used by the meat and dairy industries to “exploit, control, and even drag animals to their deaths.”

また、鼻輪は「牛や雄牛の敏感な鼻中隔に乱暴に刺され、永続的な痛みや不快感を引き起こす可能性がある」とも述べています。
They also say that the rings are “crudely stabbed through the sensitive septum of cows and bulls, which can cause lasting pain and discomfort.”

公開書簡の最後は、「指輪はソニックに任せて、牛は自由に呼吸させてあげましょう！」とユーモラスに締めくくられています。その内容は以下のとおりです。
