Cyclone Ditwa: At least 40 dead in Sri Lanka after severe floods

A red level flood warning has been issued for the low-lying areas of the Kelani River valley within the next 48 hours, the Irrigation Department said. Areas at risk include the capital, Colombo.

During a parliamentary session on Friday, Sri Lankan MP Ajith Perera raised concerns about an emergency situation reportedly involving a stranded bus.
