About me

I am a mountain guide. I live in Saitama, Japan. I have a wife and two sons.
I spend about 200 days a year in the mountains.

I am still grateful for the many kindnesses of the people around me when I walked the John Muir Trail in North America alone in my 20s with my poor English.

I could not help writing this article when I saw various problems and misunderstandings in the mountains of Japan, where the number of inbound climbers has been increasing in recent years.

I hope that the burden on those who work in the mountains in Japan, such as lodge staff and rescue workers, will be reduced, and that visitors to Japan's mountains will come to know and love the beauty of nature, culture, and people.

年間200日ぐらいは山にいます。

20代の頃、北米のジョン・ミュア・トレイルを拙い英語力で1人で歩いた際に、周囲の人々の優しさにたくさん助けられました。

近年インバウンド登山者が増える日本の山で様々なトラブルやすれ違いが起きているのを目の当たりにして、居ても立っても居られず今回の記事を書きました。

山小屋スタッフや救助関係者など日本の山の現場で働く方々の負担が少しでも減り、日本の山を訪れた方々が自然と文化と人々の素晴らしさを知り、好きになってくれれば幸いです。
