At 12:30 this thursday, June 3, there will be a rally outside the Citizenship and Immigration building (1741 Brunswick Street) in support of Sanja Pecelj. Sanja has been in sanctuary in the basement of St. Mark's church for over a year now, in fear of being deported to Serbia, which is not her home and where HER LIFE WOULD BE IN DANGER. Sanja is not a criminal. She is an intelligent, skilled not to mention thoughly kind and lovely woman who would be an asset to this country were she not stuck in a basement. I've researched her case and I've met her, OK? You'll just have to take my word for it. Sanja was living in Canada for two years before she received her deportation order. She had a job at the Pearson Peacekeeping center in a position for which no other person in Canada is qualified. There is no reason whatsoever for Sanja not to be granted refugee status. It's just a matter of red tape and pigheadedness. PLEASE ATTEND!!! THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!
