Happy Midsummer!
by Deadgirl Superstar (jinx_victim)
at December 22nd, 2007 (08:38 pm)

When every Pagan on the internet is throwing about "Happy Yule!", and everyone around you is decking the halls with winter decorations, life can seem very strange. And if one more person here sings a winter carols or mentions Yuletide six months out of kilter, I will kill them with a beachball.

Happy Midsummer, everybody!

I hope your day was a joyful one, and that your time with your family during this season is free from drama. Have a good Annual Gift Day on the 25th, too ;)

Ok so Sophie and I have been talking about the Luna Eclipse that happened tonight (I really hope you all got to see it!)

But we noticed the complete absence of any major mythology on this type of eclipse (one where it goes red)

so firstly anyone know of any? we know about the whole moon being eaten by something stuff but nothing about it going red

SO

We decided to make our own: we were thinking something along the lines of this was the moon going from being a girl to a women...maybe a ritual like how they used to have for when girls first menstruated
any thoughts? or want to add something to our myth?

Hey Peoples

I’m looking for a rune of cleansing and also one of rebirth, something that can be carved into a candle to be burnt over the course of a month

Anything would be a great help!

Blessings

Gig: Mother Russia - July 20th - Auckland

Hello, 93, Merry Meet, Ave Maria or what ever you prefer,

You may have seen this but thought I would post it here just in case. Vostok Lake are a pagan act and have at least a few songs that people here may enjoy. The early dj sets or dark folk and prog rock have a pagan bent too and may be of interest.

Its a different world out there.  If you think you have problems with being discriminated against for being pagan then read the following article, gleaned from the New Zealand Herald (5/5/07). You think you are a hardcore pagan?  Then check out the last paragraph.  The goddess is alive!

Prayer Beads
by Deadgirl Superstar (jinx_victim)
at April 18th, 2007 (09:37 am)

I've been thinking of making some Prayer Beads lately, and would value anyone else's experience in this area. I found some wonderful beads here, and would gladly buy a few different ones, so much do I admire them - were they not so gods-cursed expensive. (Once again I wish wholeheartedly that I had employment. HIRE ME!!!)

Anyway, I value your input.... If some of the questions are personal, feel free to skip them. They're just a guideline of what I'm interested in.

Do you have any prayer beads or have you used them in the past?
Did you make them, buy them, or modify existing ones?
Do you use a prayer or a mantra? Do you repeat a prayer for several beads (or every bead) or do you have a different line for each bead?
Do you use the beads religiously for prayer, or more for meditation purposes?
What drew you to use beads?
Did you write the prayers/meditations yourself, or use existing ones? What was your source?
Are your prayers pantheon-specific, or more general? Do they relate more to deities, or to nature?

Share as much or as little as you'd like - any input here is appreciated.
