I relay for my grandmother and Justin's stepmother

What would you relay for?

On May 7-8 Relay for Life will be taking place here at UD. Carrena and I are co-captaining a team and we need members!! =) Contact either one of us if you want to join or if you have any questions. It's a $10 donation from each team member plus fundraising by each member. I have the paperwork and we need to get a team together ASAP, that way we can fundraise over winter break.

Pencader's Fall Festival idea previously mentioned for Nov. 21st is being placed on hold. We will be holding an event similar to it in the Spring when it is warmer. We are still looking for bands to perform in that event though so don't give up yet!! Sorry about that.

In the meantime, however, here's another event for you!!

Pencader is in the process of planning a Fall Festival tentatively scheduled for November 21st from 2-5pm in front of the Pencader Dining Hall. We plan to have food, a bon fire, and live music at this event. If you know anyone who is currently in a band, looking for exposure, and might be interested in playing at this event, please let them know. We are looking for all types of music! There will be an interest meeting on Sunday, November 7th at 8pm in Commons I for all bands.

CCOP (Community Council of Pencader) is currently trying to decide whether or not it wants to include a pig roast in this event. So, I am definitely going to need your opinions.

When you hear "Pig Roast" do you think:
a) absolutely fun
b) completely disgusting
c) no opinion

Hey guys! Hope everyone is having a good end of October. As one of your faithful moderators I wanna take this time to remind you all of things happening in pencader.

TOMORROW NIGHT
Tomorrow night is UD's STOP THE HATE candlelight vigil. This vigil is in response to the serious hate-crimes that have been occuring on campus this semester. all pencader residents that want to participate in the march need to meet outside the dining hall at 7:45 will then proceed to walk to West Campus. Rodney and Dickinson will meet at 8:00pm and distribute candles and Laird will meet them on the Basketball Courts. Then Laird and West will walk over the beach to gather with Central, Gilbert/Harrington, and Russell. Central, Gilbert/Harrington, and Russell will meet on the beach at 8:15pm where Central, East, West, and Laird will all meet and walk to the Green together. Once at Memorial students will read about hate and hate crimes, stories, poems, songs, etc. Then the mic will be opened for anyone who would like to speak. We will close by blowing out the candles to symbolize the students’ willingness to extinguish hate on our campus.

Saturday, October 30th
This Saturday is Pencader's first social event of the semester. C.C.O.P will be sponsoring a Halloween Dance/Costume Party. It will be held in Commons 1 from 9pm-1am. There will be refreshments served and a DJ playing some great dance music. Remember, all UD students must bring their UD-ID, and any non UD student guests must have a valid state ID. There will be a costume contest with prizes being given out to the 2 best costumes (couple costumes count as one). Come out and party with your buds! A safe alternative to other parties on campus.

Broom Hockey
Ok guys, Pencader is still looking for people to play on our broom hockey team. There was an interest meeting last Sunday. Anyone who was unable to make the meeting should contact Jared (jsilfies@udel.edu)
