Ruby the Vampire
This is Ruby. I made her for witharubycrown, of an original RP muse. She's a vampire, and a member of Blade's Deacon Frost's House, so she has his glyph on her hoof. My first corset pony, I really enjoyed making her. I can't remember exactly what colours she was rehaired with, but there's two different shades of blond, starlight, caramel and some red hair in the mix. Peacock pony custom
A peacock pony custom. Her mane has been rehaired with individual strands from Peacock tail feathers. There's at least 3 strands, all put in individually, in each plug hole. She took three full size feathers to rehair in total, and I don't even know how many hours.... When the light hits her the feathers glitter in green and gold. She's for sale, £30 plus postage. ( I don't need you to ruffle the feathers of my Peacock SuitCollapse ) | | Saturday, March 3rd, 2012 | 8:24 pm [arichelic]

How to bake Sculpey? Hey there, I am new to pony customizing and am really interested in making sculpted pony customs. I really prefer using Super Sculpey over apoxie clay though and wanted to know the best conditions in which to bake sculpey clay when it is on the toy. I normally bake sculpey sculptures at 200-215 degrees for 45 min to an hour (depending on its size), but obviously I don't want the toy to melt. I also heard that you can boil sculpey somehow...? So I guess any tips/tricks that are related to solidifying sculpey on a pony would be really helpful. I've poked around on deviantart and google and haven't found anything particularly helpful. x.x Current Mood: creative | | Thursday, February 23rd, 2012 | 7:24 am [lipstickcat]

Fire Dancer
This pony has been a side project that I've been playing with between other pieces. I'm so very proud of how she turned out. All her flames have been completely flocked! I really love the texture it's given them. She's been rehaired with Electric Banana, Sunset and a mystery red that came in a packet saying "Midnight Black", which it clearly isn't! Each colour is a different length to give the fire effect. She's for sale - £35 with free postage anywhere in the world. ( Lots of photos! Because she loves the camera! XDCollapse ) | | Sunday, November 6th, 2011 | 6:44 pm [lipstickcat]

WoW: Makaya, the troll, and his pet chicken, Bok!
YES! They are finished! I post again! These boys have been kicking my butt ( as has the amount of work I've overloaded myself with, but am still determined as hell to only work on in the order of the two ( closed ) commission wait lists I have going at the moment, and my day job, and home stuff, and trying to get my butt to more and more conventions and such ). But they are finally finished! This is Makaya, the World of Warcraft troll, in pony form, and his pet chicken, Bok. Both are ~ bigbadteddy's WoW characters. He commissioned me some time ago, and was awesomely patient with me, considering how flipping long it took to resculpt this dude! Makaya started as a My Little Pony G1 Sugarberry. His entire body had to be COMPLETELY covered in Apoxie Sculpt in order for me to even start work on making him even look like a troll. The original body plastic was INSANELY soft. Would not have supported the weight of his armor, ears, hair, chin, cheeks, and tusks. Over the years, he would have sagged and fallen, so for total body support, every single inch of him is covered in Apoxie Sculpt. Resculpted with Apoxie Sculpt, decorated with Swarovski crystals and some random pretty stone I had in my collection of gems and jewelers stones. NO idea what it's called. Painted in simple FolkArt and Apple Barrel craft acrylics, sealed with a matte varnish, and a glossy varnish on his eyes, inside of his nostrils, and on his tusks near his mouth. Rehaired with a blend of Napalm and Butterfly from Dollyhair.com. Bok is COMPLETELY sculpted, top to bottom, with Apoxie Sculpt. ( =And the rest of the photos be behind this here LJ cut! CLICK!=Collapse ) Most shots are done in my backyard, but the food shots? Hot Dog Johnny’s, in Buttzville, NJ! three new customs
I've been pretty busy with pony commissions lately. I've completed commissions to make a P!nk pony, a Joker pony and a beer themed pony. At the moment I'm working on a commission for a Michael Jackson pony, then when that's completed I'm taking a break to work on a couple of personal projects, including making a Daryl Dixon pony \o/ Then I'll pick up a couple of other commissions that I have ^_^ I'll put a preview under the cut, and if you want to see more, you can see them over at kez_designs( P!nk, The Joker and HopsprinkleCollapse ) | | Wednesday, April 20th, 2011 | 12:25 am [yamiloo]

First time custom- please help!
Hi guys! Hope this is allowed. =) I've only very recently taken an interest in MLP, after getting into the new cartoon, "Friendship is Magic." Hasbro has done a half-ass job with the toys, they look nothing like the characters. Not only that, but I really wanted to see a toy of one of my favorite characters, "Nightmare Moon." So, I've decided to try my hand at customizing one. I've finally managed to get the hair off with a combination of boiling, prying, and cutting, which has left a bit of a mess on the pegs which held the hair in place. Not only that, but this doll isn't really designed for regular "hair," so I'm not sure how to continue if I want to add brushable hair to it. Someone suggested spacking epoxy into the hair groove to make plugs before it dries, but I'm not sure how that would work. (She looks a bit messy because I had tried to paint her earlier before someone gave me the idea to boil the pieces apart.) I'm also curious how you guys get your paint to look so neat- I've been using acrylic paint in coats, but it still ends up showing the brush strokes. What's the secret to an even, non-streaked coat? | | Saturday, January 8th, 2011 | 3:20 pm [lipstickcat]

rehaired ponies
Something a little different from my usual full customs; these are existing My Little ponies that I've given new hair to. I seem to be one of those strange customisers out there that enjoy rehairing. I find it relaxing and satisfying to see the end product. These three girls came to me as baits with mohicans, thinning and super!frizzy hair. I found them all too pretty to customise, so instead I set about rehairing them to give them makeovers. I'm really pleased with the results. They are all for sale - £10 each, including worldwide postage. (I also offer my rehairing services - £5+postage if you supply the hair, £8+postage for up to 2 colours if I supply it, £3 for each extra colour) ( Individual pics and details under the cutCollapse ) | | Friday, October 22nd, 2010 | 9:18 pm [beechan2]

Finished Angel of Death
The raspberry scented Angel of Death, it is finished! Started off using a G3 My Little Pony as the base, but as you can see, there isn't much of the original pony left. So let's call this a 90% complete resculpt. For those of you who don't know who the Angel of Death is based off of, I insist you borrow a copy of the movie, Hellboy 2: The Golden Army, by Guillermo del Toro. Sculpted with apoxie sculpt, paint scented with a raspberry fragrance oil, painted with acrylic paints, sealed with a matte varnish, wing eyes sealed with a glossy sealer. The eyes are liquid bronze leafed fresh water pearls. This beasty will be making a home with * DeepDarkCreations. Oh, and yes, Death apparently smells of raspberries. 3 pony customs
I've been a bit lax in updating my pony customs lately so I'm going to remedy that this afternoon. I have three ponies to show off, two are gifts for people and one was a commission ^_^ First was "Twilight", a gift for Marina using her favourite colours in the hair, and a favourite animal of hers, an owl, riding the ponies back: Then a gift for Ro: A Pete Campbell from Mad Men pony. He comes complete with a rifle and a roast chicken to throw out the nearest window XD Lastly, a commission. I was commissioned to make a pony in the likeness of Der Graf, the lead singer from the German band "Unheilig". His facial hair is made from flocking, I'm particularly proud of that detail ^_^ ( More photos of the poniesCollapse ) | | Monday, June 14th, 2010 | 7:45 am [tat2oodmonster]

Avatar pony
This pony was a very special commission. I put my services up for auction in aid of raising money for Haiti. The winning bidder donated $50 for the relief effort and asked me to make this Avatar themed pony. I have to say that I really enjoyed making her, despite frustrating rehairing tool malfunctions (two needles snapped on this girl's hard head!!) I forget which G3 pony she started as, as she was pulled out of my bait box half preped already. Normally I prefer to work with chunkier G1s, but I thought the more elegant G3 would be more suitable for a Na'vi pony. She was sculpted using apoxie sculpt. The end of her tail is the brush from a paintbrush XD She was rehaired in nylon "Black Magic", "Hazelnut" and "Nutmeg" from My Little Customs.com. Though I can't photograph it in the dark, you can see in some of the photos that she has little dots on her face and body. These are spots of glow in the dark paint so that she, well, she glows in the dark ^_^ ( Lots more pictures!Collapse ) | | Sunday, April 4th, 2010 | 2:26 pm [beechan2]

Kriticocious FINISHED!
Kriticocious is FINISHED! Kriticocious will be on her way to her new home with Jennifer wildshadow Shelley this week. Sadly, the experiment to create a black flame with Scene A Rama Water Effects was a complete failure, but hey, realistic looking fire is near impossible to sculpt. Ah well! Photoshoot now! Kriticocious started out as a G3 Beachcomber My Little Pony. All hair was completely removed, MOST of her face cut off and completely resculpted over. Materials used? Apoxie sculpt, thick wire coat hanger, tin foil, floral wire, floral foam ( for the interior of the balloon, to keep it light weight ), sewing thread, acrylic paint, a matte varnish, and a glossy varnish, as well as a soft shimmer powder. She's also been scented with a plumeria oil. One of the bug legs is removable, as are her wings. Whirl-Wind custom is finished!
And she is FINISHED! I didn't take many WIP shots of her while working on her, considering that she's a basic custom; no major sculpting, with the exception of the lily. Finished Whirl-Wind custom commission for Jamilla "Whirl-Wind" Spronk, on DA! Started with a bait G3 Frilly Locks My Little Pony ( thanks to AllIsLove, from the MLP Arena! ). Original hair and symbols removed, and rehaired with Pumpkin Spice and Espresso nylon hair from Dolly Hair, spots, stripes, eyes, and hooves painted with simple acrylics, then sealed with a matte varnish. Her eyes are sealed with a glossy sealant for a wet effect. Ribbon from JoAnn Fabrics. Lily behind her ear:Sculpted with apoxy sculpt, painted with acrylics, and sealed with matte varnish. The lily is removable. It lays behind her black ear like a real lily would behind an ear. ( =MORE ANGLES BEHIND THE CUT! IT CLICKS!=Collapse )~~Bee Current Mood: dorky | | Friday, January 15th, 2010 | 11:12 pm [lipstickcat]

The Last Unicorn - customized My Little Pony, all finished!
Look who's finally finished! My custom re-sculpture of Peter S. Beagle's, "The Last Unicorn"! SHE IS FINISHED! I finished painting her this past Friday night, at my friend Guillermo's apartment. She was premiered at my table in the artist alley at the 2009 New York City Anime Festival for the rest of the weekend. I started with the G1 Flutter Pony, Morning Glory, hacked her to pieces, re-built her skeleton using thick wire and tin foil, and used what I could from what was left of her original body, re-posed her, and sculpted from scratch all of the rest, using Apoxie Sculpt ( and Fimo for internal structural strength ). She was painted with simple acrylic paints, and sealed with a glossy sealer. I have "hidden" two swarovski crystals on her as well. My Little Pony belongs to Hasbro The Last Unicorn belongs to Peter S. Beagle I WILL have her up for auction in the next few weeks.( =Now, on to the rest of the pictures! Click here! Pictures are behind the LJ cut!=Collapse )~~Bee Current Mood: sick |
