Primeval Rumble

Welcome to primeval_rumble.


This is a rumble icon contest community dedicated to the TV show Primeval. A rumble is a contest in which participants sign up to compete in rounds which will consist of a certain number of challenges. Each challenge will be voted on on the scores will be added up so that the winner of the round is the icon maker with the most cummulative points over all the challenges.


Please be sure to read all the information on our user page and in the posts for each round and challenge, as there will be specific rules for each different challenge.


Your friendly mods are bella_farfalla and jhava. If you have any questions please leave a comment here and one of us will get back to you as soon as possible.

+ A sign up post for each round will be open for 2 weeks, if you wish to participate leave a comment on it and your name will be added to the list.

+ Each round will consist of 10 challenges.

+ You don't have to enter every challenge in a round. However you will stand a much greater chance of winning if you do, as how else are you going to get points?

+ You must, however, enter challenge 1 and at least 4 others of a round you have signed up for.

+ All entries must fit LJ's standards, that means 100x100 pixels and less than 40kb.

+ No animated icons unless a particular challenge states otherwise.

+ Entries must be new icons made specially for the contest.

+ Do not post your icons ANYWHERE untill after voting for each challenge has finished.

+ You will only be able to enter one icon per challenge.

+ Each challenge will be open for five days, and each post will state the deadline for entries to be posted.

+ Challenges will usually consist of particular images you must use and/or particular techniques you must use, for example a black and white icon.

+ Please be sure to read all posts carefully as each will contain specific instructions for each challenge.

+ Please do ask your friends to vote, as a contest doesn't work withou votes. However don't show them your entries and ask them to vote for YOU. That's cheating.

+ You do not have to be participating in a round, to vote. You don't even have to be a member of the community to vote. However you must be a LJ user. Anonymous votes will not be counted to prevent cheating.

+ If you are participating in a round you MUST vote.

+ Please don't vote for yourself.

+ To vote, read the instructions in each voting post and leave a comment with your votes in. All comments will be screened.

+ Voting will last two days

+ You will vote for the icons you wish to win the following categories: First place, Second place, Third place and one special category that will change depending on the challenge, for example best textures or best colours.

+ You may vote for an icon in both the special category and one of the normal categories (e.g 1st place and best textures).

+ How the winners of each challenge will be worked out: for every first place vote an entry will recieve 3 points, 2 points for every second place vote, 1 point for every 3rd place vote and 1 point for every special category vote.

+ The winners of each challenge will then recieve the following points for the round; 1st place 3 points, 2nd place 2 points and 3rd place 1 point.
+ All entries will recieve 1 participation point regardless of where they place.

+ One icon will also win Mod's choice for each challenge and will recieve 1 point for this.

+ When voting please try to vote for the icons you think are the best, rather than the ones with a character you like etc.
