When Im blocking and find some sort of garbage (anything thats not food or icky..) like shopping lists, coupons, pieces of paper, etc I stick in my pocket so I dont have to walk to the front of the store every few minutes, and I just throw it all out when I get home.
Anyway, today I found some scratch off tickets and as usual, I just stuck it in my pocket. Well, I just went to put my stuff in the wash and figured Id make sure none of the tickets were winners.
And HA! One of the tickets won a free ticket.. so.. due to a customer being rude and throwing a lotto ticket on top of something in the pharmacy aisle.. I get a free scratch off ticket.
Oh-the-excitement!

What is the weirdest thing a customer has ever said to you? (something that didn't make sense, "too much information", something random and out of the blue...)
And what is the most stupid thing a customer has ever said or done? (this is not to be confused with rudest... i'm looking for just plain dumb)

Firsti have to say thank you to everyone who suggested something for me to do.... i havent commented back... but isay it now to all you you... thank you so much.
I talked to a few people at my store who i trust. One woman who I've known since before i worked for Publix suggested i talk to her manager... the Meat Manager... She had already given him a heads up. I went straight to his office. He suggested thathe tell out asst. store manager Steve. I thought of going to Steve because he is my favorite manager there, and of all of the people ive known in my whole life, other thanmy parents, i have the utmost respect for him. Larry (Meat) talked to steve and he found me making my air fresheners pretty. We went to the Managers Office and talked for about an hour and a half. I think it went pretty well also. He said he is going to talk to Richard tomorrow (Grocery Manager). I'm glad i said something finally. I was also glad to know that he felt the same way i do. I even told him how much i respect him and look up to him. So tomorrow... i should have an apology and hopefully not have any repercussions such as cut hours or a demotion. I've prepared myself for dirty looks and shadyness, its expected. i just dont want to see my boss get a demotion or lose his job. I just want him to learn from his mistakes, being that this hasnt been the first time, and i hope he thinks before he speaks stupidity.

Note to customers: If a certain coupon states that, upon redemption, you receive 75 cents off the two items stated, that coupon is good for only one use.
LaymenCustomer's translation: One swipe per coupon, buddy.

Haha...the easy way to get notice in Walmart is wearing your Publix uniform in the store.
And b/c customers are stupid.....they started asking ME where everything was. Gotta love that and the dirty looks.

Why the hell do I have to be put on the express register every single fucking day????? I swear, there's maybe 4 cashiers that ALWAYS get put on there, and nobody else ever does. It's bullshit. I hate express. I was on there for 5 fucking hours, from 3-8, on a Friday, during the busiest part of the day, with no opportunities to get water or a quick bathroom break.
And I HATE how they don't allow the express cashiers to have baggers. That's just stupid. That line would move twice as fast if I didn't have to scan everything AND bag all of it at the same damn time. And God help me if some jackass wants paper for his stuff. It screeches to a complete halt when that happens....
Argh, it just frustrates me so damn much... >_

So today we were busy and all and we didn't have enough baggers to help one of our regular old ladies in a wheelchair, shop. So since I was the only one "available" being that I was the only Office Staff, I had to do it. I mean no big deal because she's a nice lady. So I am pushing her down the back speedway towards the meat dept. and there were some people sampling pork since the Daytona 500 is next week. So she said she wanted some. So I pushed her to the people and she took a small thing of it. We start walking down the soda aisle and DAMN! She started to choke. I asked her if she was ok and she started turning blue in the face and was trying to cough. So quick thinking, I pushed her to the back hall and gave her some water and tried helping her get it out of her throat. Luckily she coughed it back up and was able to get her composure. Damn if that wasn't one of the scariest moments of my life. We went back up front and got the rest of her stuff after she felt better. After the cashier rang up all of her stuff I took her outside and waited with her until the bus came to pick her up.
WOW I saved someone's life
Really makes ya feel good
