| I hadn't heard back from Tufts Medical Center after applying for my co-op position there so my adviser told me to e-mail the recruiter. I e-mailed her letting them know that I was very interested in working at Tufts and she responded to me saying that they would have contacted me but they never received my information/resume. That means that my co-op adviser did not send my resume to my top choice hospital. The nurse recruiter is going to check to see if any of the departments still have openings but that will take a week to determine because they are still waiting to hear back from students that have already been offered jobs.

| This is me not studying for my test tomorrow. My third test of the week. I'm fucking worn out. Drained. Dead. Or pretty damn close at least.
I've been sick for two weeks now. That is just stupid. I can't get better because I'm constantly stressed and I rarely sleep enough.
Classes end the 15th. And then I have finals on the 16th and the 24th. I can finally fully move into my apartment soon. No more living in two places which gets to be kind of weird.
I just coughed so hard I almost puked. I think that means I should go to bed...but I guess I'll study a bit first.
Gooooood nightttt | comments: Bring it on back |

| I'm so tired. This is only the second week of the semester and it is already a little overwhelming.
I started working out again. We have an amazing gym on campus, it is huge...but also intimidating. It took me three semesters to get myself there and I had to go the first time with my friend Meaghan because I was too much of a wuss to venture there alone. I went to that gym three times this week and yesterday I went to the other smaller gym with my friend Colby. Today I am going to get much needed rest. Between classes, schoolwork, work-work, and the gym I have been worn out. I almost slept through my morning class which would have been awful because we had an assignment due and the class is pharmacology so I need any and every grade I can get!
Usually on Fridays I'm out for the night as soon as possible but all I want to do tonight is stay in and rest. Laaammeeeeee. Oh well. It is a three day weekend so I guess I can afford to waste an evening. Maybe I will get some reading done? I'm already so behind. As tough as this semester is going to be it should be really interesting. I am finally taking courses for nursing rather than the basics and it is cool to learn information and then be told a clinical application of it. My teachers are now nurses, for the most part, rather than biologists and chemists, so they know what to teach us that will be important for our carreers. My lab this semester is where we are learning how to do procedures. Right now we are learning how to take vital signs like blood pressure, temperature, O2 sats etc. Its fun!
I'm going to go make hot chocolate, watch CSI and relax. Good night! | comments: 6 Ripped it up or Bring it on back |
| Sooo I may end up getting a B- in A+P. For the majority of this semester I was worried about getting the necessary C-. I don't know if he made the final easier, or scaled it but everyone did significantly better on the last exam. My test grades for the class are 79, 61 (ugh), 74, and 89.58. My lab grade is a 95.14 so depending on how much I get for participation and classroom assignments, which I think I did the majority of, then I can get a B-. I may end up with a C+ which will kind of be a bummer because I know I am capable of doing better, I just had a lot of issues with the exams =/
Depending on what I get on my Chem final I should get around an A and I should be getting an A or B something in my medical ethics class. I'm really not sure how my developmental psych class will turn out. I'm thinking B range though maybe I'll kick ass on the final and get an A. If I want to kick ass on the final then I should totally be studying right now instead of posting haha.
My face is doing ok. Its swollen and my cheeks keep getting caught in my teeth because they protrude into my mouth so far haha. Thats gross. As for pain, I think I deal with worse on a regular basis with my back and sciatica. I've mostly been taking advil to keep the swelling down and I haven't needed a lot of vicodin. I'm so glad I chose the IV anestesia. I remember talkig to the Doctor and him making a lame joke ashe inserted the IV and then I was waking up. I remember when he told me he was going to instert the needle my pulse started going faster on the monitor and it made me want to laugh. I don't know, cliche physiological reactions are funny to me, especially because I feel like I should be able to control them because I know about them? I don't know.. I was worried about being disoriented when I woke up because a girl in my class told me about how she freaked out after anestesia but I was fine and knew exactly what was happening. I also did not get sick from it which is awesome because vomitting with a stitched up bloody mouth seems terrible D=
I don't know how my desire to post in Lj got rekindled but I feel like writing stuff down more now. | comments: Bring it on back |
| I have successfully completed my first final and I am on my way to finishing up this semester! I think I did alright on my Anatomy and physiology final but there is always a chance in that class that I failed. I'm hoping for a B but I wont be upset with a C. Even if I get a B my test average will still be a C though my lab grade and attendance may bump up my class grade to a B/B-. Now I only have two finals left, for chemistry and developmental psychology, as well as a final paper to write for health care ethics. I should be writing that paper now while I'm at work and have the time but instead I am updating...
On Thursday I am getting all four wisdom teeth extracted...that should be fun! Then on the following Monday and Tuesday I have my final exams. Yay!! No. Hopefully my face wont hurt too much and the meds wont make me too loopy and I'll be able to take the tests and PASS!
I'm going to try and get started on this paper now. It shouldn't be difficult, just analyzing two medical case studies from various ethical point of views but I am having trouble finding the motivation to start.
My teeth feel crowded and weird D= | comments: 6 Ripped it up or Bring it on back |

| So I went to the student employment office and they put me on a waiting list to give me workstudy. I guess I had originally filed for it too late so I didn't receive it at first. Anyways, they said I should hear by Friday but it actually only took a few hours! They allotted me $750 so now I will be getting a weekly paycheck again! I hate feeling financially unstable and withdrawing from my bank account without having anything to put in. It makes me very antsy...
Despite back issues I'm applying for the mail room again. I guess I just really liked it. I like getting to walk around and be outside and get paid for it! That seems so much more appealing than sitting in an office doing someone's bitch work. Or sitting by a door swiping Husky cards for hours on end. I guess I will just be more diligent about doing my back exercises so I can better manage the pain. If I don't then carrying those mailbags might get to be too much.
Ahhh anatomy test at 8am tomorrow!!! | comments: Bring it on back |
| my back hurts I can't walk right now
school is going well though I should probably (definitely) be more diligent with my work and reading
I need a job
I need groceries
I finally decided to go to the doctor for my ankle. I find out more from the MRI in two weeks
blahhhhhh | comments: Bring it on back |
| When did I get so reckless and so goddamned stupid?
Maybe its been a long time coming, I'm not sure.
At least I only have three days of classes left and then three days of finals. That is a very small amount of time that I will need to have my wits about me. I think I can do it. | comments: Bring it on back |
| I just really thought you ought to know that today sucks. I have had a nasty stomach bug for a week. I woke up today with a head cold. When I eat my stomach and intestines wage war on the rest of my body. And to top it all off I LIT MYSELF ON FIRE TODAY Not two minutes after saying something along the lines of "Working with Bunsen burners always makes me nervous and I had a dream I caught on fire last night." Then what do I do? Lean over an open flame in my sickly obliviousness and burn my fleece. It smells funny now and it is brown and scratchy =[ | comments: 2 Ripped it up or Bring it on back |
| I have a mere 27 days left of my freshman year of college.
And then a few extra days of finals but that is no big.
In other news, I want to drop off the face of the planet. And I have the perfect way to do so... if only there wasn't school and work holding me down to reality. | comments: 5 Ripped it up or Bring it on back |
| I've gotten comfortably into the rhythm of school. (it took me like 3 minutes to figure out how to spell rhythm..) I have to wake up at 5:30 three times a week to make sure I make it to my 8:00 classes. It has not been quite as bad as I anticipated. Granted, I get really tired during the day and I have a bad habit of dozing during class, but I have been working on staying awake. I have unfortunately come to the realization that college is going to have to take a lot more effort than I had previously thought. I rarely studied in high school, most things came easily enough and if they didn't then it didn't matter. If I failed a test or quiz there were always eight more chances to make up the grade. This really isn't the case now. With only a few exams per class, I'm fucked if I fail. And I did fail my first microbiology exam. And its not like I failed with a 59 or anything. The best grade I could possibly have gotten on that test was a 35. I couldn't answer anything. Hopefully my lab grade, which is 40% of my class grade, will save me. But since taking that test I have been working really hard to pay attention. I have been taking good notes and asking questions when I don't understand something. As long as I don' fail another exam I shouldn't have to repeat the course. Oh man, that would be fucking awful, retaking the course over the summer. There is no way in hell I'm going to school over the summer. That is my time. | comments: Bring it on back |
| I'm fucking sick and tired of .........
I can't even finish that sentence. I guess 'everything' would suffice.
oooh generalized and vague angsty entries Ew what is this? Lame and emo high school bullshit all over again? | comments: 3 Ripped it up or Bring it on back |
