Is your child O.D.D.?
(actual update to come soon...ish) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oppositional_defiant_disorderDiagnostic Criteria 1. A pattern of negativistic, hostile, and defiant behavior lasting at least 6 months, during which four (or more) of the following are present: Note: Consider a criterion met only if the behavior occurs more frequently than is typically observed in individuals of comparable age and developmental level. 1. often loses temper 2. often argues with adults 3. often actively defies or refuses to comply with adults' requests or rules 4. often deliberately annoys people 5. often blames others for his or her mistakes or misbehavior 6. is often touchy or easily annoyed by others 7. is often angry and resentful 8. is often spiteful or vindictive 2. The disturbance in behavior causes clinically significant impairment in social, academic, or occupational functioning. 3. The behaviors do not occur exclusively during the course of a psychotic or mood disorder. 4. Criteria are not met for conduct disorder, and, if the individual is age 18 years or older, criteria are not met for antisocial personality disorder. If the child meets at least four of these criteria, and they are interfering with the child’s ability to function, then he or she technically meets the definition of oppositionally defiant.[1] | | Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009 | | 3:46 am |
To those unaware
I had to put my oldest dog, Bear, to sleep yesterday morning. May he rest in peace. At least he's no longer in any pain, and he lead a full 17 + years of life. | | Monday, June 8th, 2009 | | 6:38 am |

Europe, Here I come
So I'm betting a few of you might not be aware, but tomorrow I'm leaving for Europe. I'm traveling to Romania for 2 weeks, where I'll be staying with my dad and step-mom. They'll be showing me around a few places but for the most part I'll be on my own. While I'm there they will also take me to visit Albania, and maybe even Croatia (I'm hoping for the latter). After my stay with them I'm traveling up to Prague in the Czech Republic for 10 days. I'm staying at the amazingly cool Hostel Elf, and checking out the sites, city, and the bars. Supposedly they have some of the best beer in Europe from what I hear, so I can't wait. This is all my graduation present, of which I graduated last saturday. I should be getting my degree sometime in the mail. I'm mainly going to Europe to just get away from everything. No offense to anyone, but I need a break from you all. From my mom, dogs, friends, best friends, job, house, city, ex-girlfriends, and whatever else is here. I need that 3 week period to just escape, and I'll be ready to deal with everything when I get back. I'm bringing my camera with me, so expect lots of pictures. Don't expect many updates however, because I'm not bringing my laptop. However there are tons of internet cafe's so I'm sure I'll pop on every once in awhile to check up on people. If I'm gone longer than 3 weeks, then suspect that I have killed my father and being held in some sort of prison. Though I'm sure after much investigation they will come to the conclusion that I did the world a favor, and hopefully give me a large chunk of land to call my own and govern like a king. I can dream right? Current Mood: excited | | Tuesday, May 5th, 2009 | | 8:31 pm |

New Nightmare
So I just found out that Jackie Earle Haley (as in the guy who played Rorschach in the Watchmen movie) is going to be the new Freddie Kreuger in the "Nightmare on Elm Street" remake. I'm oddly conflicted in this judgement call. It's not that I'm skeptical of his ability to portray the character, but more so a feeling of alienation. I grew up watching Robert Englund playing my favorite dream slasher all my life. Can I stand to watch someone else take up the mantle and attempt to portray the reboot of this franchise? I honestly don't know. For once when it comes to this series, I'm sad at the prospect that it may get so utterly butchered that noboy wants anything to do with it ever again. Pun intended. | | Sunday, April 26th, 2009 | | 11:11 pm |

The Color of Magic
I'm really loving this book. It's part of the Disc World series by Terry Pratchett. Death so far has to be my favorite character. Its like a spoof or parody of Lord of the Rings. To understand what I means, here is a passage from the book. Thus it was that Rincewind, hurrying through the crowded, flare-lit evening bazaars of Morpork with the Luggage trundling behind him, jostled a tall dark figure, turned to deliver a few suitable curses, and beheld Death. It had to be Death. No one else went around with empty eye sockets and, of course, the scythe over one shoulder was another clue. As Rincewind stared in horror a courting couple, laughing at some private joke, walked straight through the apparition without appearing to notice it. Death, insofar as it was possible in a face with no movable features, looked surprised. RINCEWIND? Death said, in tones as deep and heavy as slamming of leaden doors, far underground. "Um," said Rincewind, trying to back away from that eyeless stare. BUT WHY ARE YOU HERE? (Boom, boom went crypt lids, in the worm haunted fastnesses under old mountains...) "Um, why not?" said Rincewind. "Anyway, I'm sure you've got lots to do, so if you'll just-" I WAS SURPRISED THAT YOU JOSTLED ME, RINCEWIND, FOR I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THEE THIS VERY NIGHT. "Oh no, not-" OF COURSE, WHAT'S SO BLOODY VEXING ABOUT THE WHOLE BUSINESS IS THAT I WAS EXPECTING TO MEET THEE IN PSEPHOPOLIS. "But that's five hundred miles away!" YOU DON'T HAVE TO TELL ME. THE WHOLE SYSTEM'S GOT SCREWED UP AGAIN, I CAN SEE THAT. LOOK, THERE'S NO CHANCE OF YOU-? Rincewind backed away, hands spread protectively in front of him. The dried fish salesman on a nearby stall watched this madman with interest. "Not a chance!" I COULD LEND YOU A VERY FAST HORSE. "No!" IT WON'T HURT A BIT. "No!" Rincewind turned and ran. Death watched him go, and shrugged bitterly. SOD YOU, THEN, Death said. He turned, and noticed the fish salesman. With a snarl Death reached out a bony finger and stopped the man's heart, but he didn't take much pride in it. Then Death rememebred what was due to happen later that night. It would not be true to say that Death smiled, because in any case His features were perforce frozen in a calcareous grin. But He hummed a little tune, cheery as a plague pit, and- pausing only to extract the life from a passing mayfly, and one ninth of the lives from a cat cowering under the fish stall (all cats can see into the octarine)- Death turned on His heel and set off toward the Broken Drum. What's Sexy About Your Name
|

You are sexy because you are a talented lover. You take being good in bed very seriously.
You are willing to do anything to make sure your partner is satisfied. You work hard in the bedroom.
And you're always up for trying out something new. You're always dreaming up new ideas and techniques.
You are very sexually experienced. You've done a lot, even if you haven't had many partners.
Unlike other people, you don't need to be in love to get intimate with someone.
You're open to many experiences with many people. And there's no way you could love all of them!

Caffiene
I love it. Or maybe that's my addiction talking. At zotz, done with my homework for the time being, will get the rest of it done tomorrow. Only thing is, on my third cafe' au lait within 2 hours. really? ya really. I can feel it swimming around my head in a pool of pure happy. I guess this is what I get for being cold turkey for so long and getting this drink to help me study more. I can barely stop right now. on a semi related note: I stopped smoking... again... like 2 or 3 weeks ago now. The bad part? I used to associate coffee with smoking cigarettes when I used to be a huge zotz junkie. I almost want to go outside and smoke a cig now. almost. doesn't really help the friend I'm here with is hopelessly addicted to cigarettes. argh. mmmm cafe' au lait on a cold night. | | Monday, November 10th, 2008 | | 8:12 pm |
