WHAT HAPPENED TO NEWSWEEK's top HIGH SCHOOLS OF 2006???!?!??! SHHS is not even on the list?!?!?! (Troy dropped to #46 this year) Which graduating class is this based on? Class of 05 or class of 06?! |

The Complete List of the 1,000 Top U.S. Schools
Based on this article, Sunny Hills High School is ranked #166 out of the top 1,000 high schools in the U.S. Troy is ranked #21. If I'm not mistakened, Sunny Hills was ranked 99 and Troy was ranked 98 in 2003. What happened!? :( Oh well, I love SHHS. =] |

bright legacy of SHHS
Oh sure, there's the Stuart Tay thing. But there's also Eddie Charles III, who bashed in mom, dad, and his brother's heads and then tossed 'em in the trunk of the car and torched it. As an added bonus, he tried to get his grandfather to take the rap, and when he wouldn't, Charles tried to have him killed from jail! or Frederica Spilman, a US Navy navigator on an ES-3 Shadow electronic surveillance plane, who posed for the June 1998 edition of Playboy. Threw the Navy into turmoil because they couldn't decide what to do with her. She left after her normal term expired, since she was pretty much guaranteed to never advance in rank. or Drama/English teacher Loretta Coller (she had just been moved to English in my last year, KO moved up to take her spot), who was shot by her ex girlfriend Janet Green (another SH teacher) and eventually died from complications. or There's always just stoopid deaths, the guy who was shot by a girlfriends father as he tried to climb in the wrong window at her house (football player, go figure). Or the guy who got hit by a bunch of cars as he drunkenly flew out of the back of a truck on the 55. My fave is the guy who got busted junior year (1985) for trying to rob a liquor store a couple blocks from his house--for PROM MONEY!! |

Errata et cetera
That's Erskine, with an e at the end. It's George Giokaris, not Geokopolis or whatever you put there. He's the Superintendent now. Also maybe you should have Loring Davies in the interests. I'm class of 1995, btw. "Don't Dream It's Over" was our senior song, and of course '95 was the year some SHers killed a kid from Irvine. Good times. Current Mood: picky |

hey, I'm eva...class of 2001! :) i left right in time before they started messing up the quad and constructing a building right smack in the middle. i went back once and took pics, so maybe i'll post them some time. anyway, who was your favorite teacher? my fave was mr. debacker. the worst...dr. lampman, blah. i hope he doesn't find this somehow. anyway, that's about all i have to say right now. :) |
