Rafael Lesmes Bobed (9 November 1926 – 8 October 2012) was a Spanish footballer. He primarily played for Real Valladolid and Real Madrid,[1] and made 263 appearances in La Liga, before retiring in 1962 at the age of 35.[2] He also won five consecutive European Cups with Real Madrid.[3][4][5] With Spain, he capped two times between 1955 and 1958, and was part of their team at the 1950 FIFA World Cup, although did not play a match.[6]

Lesmes' older brother, Francisco, was also a footballer. Because of this, Rafael was often known as Lesmes I, while Francisco was known as Lesmes II.[7]

Rafael died in Valladolid on 8 October 2012, at the age of 85.[8]
