Bases for icon-making.
At Simply Bases we specialise in simple, plain bases for icons/avatars so if you are looking for a pic, but can't find the ideal one for what you have in mind, this community is for you!
The Rules
Every community has rules, and ours is no exception. Please follow these at all times.
Using
- Please respect the respective rules of the icon base creators. Most bases here will require credit, especially if the bases were screen caps taken by the poster, or if they did any additional customization to the base and request that credit is given, please do so accordingly.
- Should you take a base, please make sure you comment on the thread from which you took it so the maker will know who is using them.
Sharing
- If you would like to share some bases that you have made, if you intend posting more than three, please make sure you place them behind an LJ cut. If you do not know how to do these, please refer to here to find out how.
- All bases must be free from text, un-animated, and in one of these three formats: gif, jpg or png .
- All posts must be bases only. No icons here, please.
- Bases can be whatever size suits you best, but no larger than 100x100 and 40 kB file size max. Otherwise, the base will not fit on LJ.
- Any bases you share must be your own work. Even with bases, theft isn't acceptable.
Requests
- Feel free to request bases of specific themes / people / etc. ; however, unless a poster specifies in their post that they would be happy to customize, please do not request customizations as this is not the aim of the community.
Direct linking
- Don't do it! If you are taking any graphics, please make sure you upload to your own server. No-one likes a bandwidth thief.
Member Interaction
- Two rules here.
BE NICE. No drama, no whining, no NSFW (not safe for work) icon bases posted above the LJ cut tag. We all want to be happy bunnies here, so please don't cause any trouble.
Post only bases. That's what the comm is for. Off-topic posts will be removed asap. Any spam will be deleted asap, the spammer reported to LJ, and of course the spammer will be removed and banned.
Failure to comply with these very basic rules (except for spamming) will result in a warning. Three warnings and you will be removed and banned. Moderators reserve the right to ban any member at their discretion.
We don't ask a lot from the members, so we think rule breakers should be dealt with accordingly.
