I cut my hair!
I got a haircut, you guys!
Those of you who know me know that I have had pretty much the same hairstyle since, oh, high school. Earlier than high school, even. My hair is dark blond, curly, and has generally been very long -- usually somewhere between my shoulders and mid-back. Never really had much of a style, although occasionally I have had it layered.
I, uh, went to one of those haircutting places at the mall and got it all cut off. Yeah. I'm sort of surprised too. And I didn't cry! At all!
I think it makes me look pretty much like a big ol' dyke. Which, you know, I'm good with. I wasn't expecting it -- the picture I pointed out to the stylist was a very straight-girl version. I tried describing it as kind of a Leonardo-diCaprio-in-Titanic thing, but she was too young to remember that. Bah. But, look, I got the gay version. (Jen thinks I got Rachel Maddow's haircut, which I totally didn't do on purpose.) It's a haircut that my brother has often had, although it's not the one he currently has. I figured it'd probably look okay on account of how we have the same basic headshape. I am pleased.
I feel like now I need new glasses, or something.
Tune in later this week, when I semi-permanently dye it light brown for a Hallowe'en costume that no one in RL will recognize. (Costume whining to follow in another post.)
Okay, I think that's enough about my hair for right now.
[ETA: I just called my mother and emailed her some pictures, and the first words out of her mouth were "You got Rachel Maddow's haircut." And then she told me she got the same haircut yesterday. Hmm.]
