Slow Burn is a Members Only 18 and over erotica community for writers to post NC-17 rated original short fiction and short fanfiction stories. We accept fictional person stories from all fandoms as well as real person stories featuring the celebrity of your choice. We even encourage nonfiction as well if you have a good story to share with us!

Here's the rundown for all you newbies:

+Our community features stories with adult content, so it is no place for ANYONE under 18 years of age. If you're not 18 or over, LEAVE NOW. Seriously. We will be checking member profiles and if we see that someone has joined who is not 18 or older they will be banned from the community.

+This community is MEMBERS ONLY, so all posts will only be visible to those who join. ALL POSTS MUST BE SUBMITTED AS FRIENDS ONLY. Any posts submitted that are not Friends Locked will be deleted from the moderation queue.

+All stories MUST be NC-17 rated, as in containing graphic sexual content. This is an EROTICA community. If you want to post your epic mushy love story, do it somewhere else. We're not interested in that here, sorry.

+Mostly PWP (Short erotic fiction with little to no plot and mostly sex, no more than one chapter) stories are allowed here, although multi-chapter stories will be allowed at moderator discretion. Sometimes you can't get enough, and we totally understand that. Drabbles and short scenes are allowed, but must be labled as such in the subject line.

+ALL submissions will be moderated and must be approved by a moderator before being posted to the community. We'll mainly be checking for content and correct warnings, etc. IF your submission gets rejected, you will receive a written explanation from a moderator explaining why your story was rejected and what you can do to have it approved. Don't think of it as a rejection, think of it as an enforcement of our rules. If you resubmit your story according to our rules, then we will be glad to approve it.

+We're pretty open minded about our erotica, but some things just won't be allowed here: Stories containing Rape, Non-Con, Incest, Child Porn, etc. are strictly PROHIBITED. If it's a crime punishable by law, we don't want stories about it in our community. There's nothing entertaining about a story where someone gets raped or has underage sex with a close relative or family pet. All characters MUST be 18 years of age or over. We don't do kiddie porn here folks. Find somewhere else to post your work or build your own website. There's a lot of places on the net where stories containing such content are allowed, so don't get your panties in a wad over this rule. We don't want to hear it.

+Both HET and SLASH are allowed here. Real person and fictional person fanfiction stories as well as original fiction stories are also allowed. Dark stories and BDSM stories are encouraged and welcome here. Please feel free to be as kinky as you want, that's what this community is for after all!

+ALL stories must be clearly labeled and have CLEAR WARNINGS of content. Here's an example of what we expect/suggest:

+Please remember to place your fic behind an LJ-CUT. If you don't know how to do that, easy instructions can be found HERE.

+Feel free to link to your own fic journal in your LJ-CUT, just remember that our rules still apply if you want to post a link to your fic here. Please keep in mind that taking the time to actually post your story here on the community will probably ensure a lot more readers than expecting people to follow a link to your community where they are forced to join just to read your story.

+Feel free to post a fic image or picture with your story. Just remember to place it behind your LJ-CUT when you post your work, and hotlinking is NOT allowed. Your image must be hosted on your own server and proper credit must be given beneath the image if it was made for you by someone else. As such, if the photos you post do not belong to you then credit must be given to the owner or a disclaimer is required stating that the image does not belong to you. ALL images containing pornographic content MUST be behind a cut and a clear warning must be posted before the cut.

+This community has tags enabled, so USE THEM. If you have written a story about Gerard Butler, then please tag your post with his name so people who are interested in reading stories about him can find it in our community without sifting through hundreds of posts first. Using tags is a win/win situation, so please utilize this feature. Thanks!

+Pimping your community here is NOT allowed. This isn't your personal advertising service. Posts like that will be deleted from moderation queue.

+ABSOLUTELY NO FLAMING IS ALLOWED. Keep your drama and your flame wars out of this community. Flaming will not be tolerated under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Keep your criticism CONSTRUCTIVE.

+Plagiarism is something only untalented losers do, so don't do it. Anyone posting someone else's work as their own on this community will be permanently BANNED.

That's pretty much it folks. We hate to be one of those communities with a ton of nitpicking rules but we don't think we're asking too much here. These rules are pretty standard these days so they shouldn't be too difficult to follow. We want to read your work so post away! Please don't let our rules intimidate you. They're not very strict when you think about it and besides, no one here is going to bite you, unless you ask them too of course;)
